So I just picked up a 2001 lx470 with 80k miles for 1200 bucks... here is why
It was in a collision at about 45. whats wrong... whole front clip, hood, grill, lights, radiator, oil cooler... what good... runs, no frame damage, and in very good shape otherwise.

so what would you do with it?
fix it up and sell it for a profit
turn it into a dakar style rig( there are lots of fun trails of the type around)
go real hardcore and do an alum. 45 pickup project
or just fix it and have someone in the family drive it

thats the options I have come up with for it so what would you do out of these or others I am open to other ideas

get a new front clip and a front axle conversion.

I never been a fan of the big body repairs .. taking the frame I will do something that can be fun to me in my off road style ..

If where me down here I will make a tube, fiber front clip and cut the fat ass .. to make a sick offroad rig.

Depends on your needs, I can tell you that by rebodying it you will have a huge and pretty expensive project.

If you just want to turn it into a family camping rig, get a new front clip and don't invest a lot in the body work, rough up the whole cruiser and take the opportunity to spay down an easily touched up color.

If you want a retro but fun, reliable and capable wheeler, grab a 45 wagon, 55, or 60 body and start cutting and welding!

If you want a crazy cool no hold barred wheeler, pull the whole body off, cut out the suspension and link it front and rear. But this isn't the ideal platform for that, IMO you would be better off selling the LX and starting that project from scratch.

well I guess I should say I have a sprung over 60 on 37s and an 80 as a daily driver that I am going to start building soon so I dont really need just another normal trail rig

I say make it into a giant art-car and create a giant manatee body and use it for a DD and create more public awareness for the preservation of the everglades...



Slap some 40" meats on there while your at it. ..
