I have a factory spare that has the original white on the upper (protected) side, but all surface rust on the side that faces the road. I am going to clean up that corrosion and want to repaint that half. I know I should powder coat that, but may want to just spray paint it for the time being. Does anyone know what spray paint closely approximates the factory shade? I read in the FJ40 forum that they use Krylon Dover White or Rustoleum Heirloom White. I looked at those and they appear to have a bit too much yellow tint to them compared to my wheel. Does anyone have any experience choosing a white for your steel wheels? Thanks.

Go with the flow(FJ40 forum). Good choice on rattle can paint vs P.C. IMO. My set of P.C.'d steel wheels were paint bubble junk inside of 5 years.

Just bumping this to the top to see if anyone has experience with the two paint colors I posted. I’ll post a pic of the wheel too. It’s getting time to reinstall and I would like to paint with the correct color. Thanks

Pic of the wheel color I’m trying to match. The other side is all surface rust.

I don't have any experience with either, but will painting some wheels white, so would love to see what you come up with.
