I haven't found anywhere that tall/skinny is better. That combo helps keep rubbing down, though.

I run 33x12.5x16 trxus MT's year round. As previously posted, they run about $168 a tire. I am selling that set to move up to 35x12.5x16 trxus MT's for about $115 a tire, and they only have $2K miles. Some fool save $250 and buy these damn things! (see the parts 4 sale forum) :beer:

BFG AT 285/75/16 with 65000 miles on them and still about half their tread (5 tire rotation).

Michelin LTX M/S 285/75. All the good qualities of the stock tires but bigger and much tougher.

Cant really complain at $90 a tire. I have a good bit of mileage on them , seem to be holding up pretty well. I will go with something else next time.
