my speakers are blown.

what size speakers go into a 93 landcruiser? i know there are 4 sets in mine. one under the dash, two sets in the door, and one set in the ceiling. circuit city told me 4" in the doors, and 3.5" in the dash and ceiling, but i just went out there and measured different.

if anyone has bought a stereo lately could help, it would be much appreciated! :)

Worm,

There's been a lot of good information on this in the past. Use the search feature and search "Speakers" or just look in the FAQ. There's a thread for replacing speakers and keeping it stock looking. I researched then took the door panels off my 94 and measured then put the largest speakers I could squeeze in but still had to cut some metal. They sound great but take some work to install. Please... do yourself a favor and read the old post. There's some great information that's been typed up.

worm, you are kidding me right? Do you guys like watch posts then wait 2 or 3 weeks and ask the same question all over again just for kicks? Seriously, big junk gotta know

Would you believe that this forum has had almost 67,000 posts and not a SINGLE one on speakers?

I don't believe it either.

Search and you shall be rewarded.

two words for ya.......JOB SECURITY!!

i am just trying to keep you guys on your toes! pleaaaase, that is not very nice to make me feel any dumber than i already am!!! plus, i spent the whole night looking up posts about birfs, trying to save you guys the trouble! I think i was sleepwalking with that lame post :whoops: . besides, what am i supposed to write about? you guys have covered everything. i could talk about my love life, but that would only use one word(none)!

all of the posts say 5 1/4" , which means that the guy at circuit city needs to go back to school or get glasses, since he looked right at them and told me 4". case closed.

the worm is sorry and will go back in the hole he dug for himself,
thanks.

My front speakers are 4'' back doors are 6.5's. Didn't know of speakers in the ceiling...Circuit city isn't the best of places to get Car audio done. Take it to a custom sound shop and have them look at it. Then they'll try and sell you something but if you're just looking for sizes you should be fine, don't buy anything you don't need they will try everything to sell it to you but they also know what their doing.

6.5" in doors both front and rear will fit, the rears need a bit more creativity 5.25" fit easier in the rear. You may opt for the skinny Infinities for the front. www.crutchfield.com had the skinny 6.5 Infinities on clearance. The in dash are tiny factory units but you can stuff a 3.5" or 4" if you are creative. 3.5" I think would be max for the rear cargo top speakers. 6.5" sub will bolt in. A kicker free air or other free air is a good choice there as there isn't a box. All of this is without too much work. If you wanted work, you could remove the map holders and make custom units for the front doors and go with 8" woofers, a 5.25" mid, and a 1" tweeter. Speakers are just like tires. What can work and what will work depends on how comfortable you feel with making mods.

I recommend the base eclipse speakers in 5.25" in the front and 4" in the rear. Nice warm sound and they are 95db/watt efficient, so they work very well with the stock head unit. Disconnect the stock speakers in the dash.

hey cary, what year is your cruiser?

are there different size speaker holes in the 91-92 than the 93-94's?

96 and I remember there being some differences from the 93-94 and 95-96 in speaker mounting depths. You will have to search around for my former thread on Eclipse speakers. It was sometime last spring or summer.

cary and I have the same speakers and they work well in both applications.

The Eclipses are a great product if you can find them

What type of after market amp are you using with so many speakers?
