It is definately a voltage regulator. I have NEVER seen one like that though. Is it marked Denso on the top?

I believe that even the 6V 25's had a smaller can type mounted to the firewall like the later units, at least that's what the parts book shows.

Alonso, the '58 parts book shows the voltage regulator in that spot. It shows the later model tin can style in the parts breakdown though. You have a collector's item there. I don't remember if any of the pictures in the BJ picture thread have any under hood shots..............that would be the same probably.

It is of a 1956 FJ25... yes,it was in the same spot for like 30 years

Im olso trying to find pictures from the first FJ25, because this have some diferences with the 1958 an later Fj25´s.... hard work...

Yes it says DENSO in the top...
