Whatever it is don't stare at it for any lengthy amount of time, otherwise the results could be unhealthy..........

The only light on on my dash around that area was a red light for brakes.

Is this in the gauge cluster or on the dash ?

If it's on the dash it could be the seat belt light or the ejection seat warning lamp.

...or the "weapons armed" warning light.

It's not stock.
It is the warning lamp for tracking missile lock. If it lights up solid, take evasive action NOW!
