What is the correct spark plug gap ofr a 2F? (1 Viewer)

I was checking the plugs for my '79 the other day to see how things were looking and noticed that they were gapped for .035. Both the Haynes and Factory Engine manuals said that factory setting for these was .039. I noticed that the NGK site says to gap their plugs at .032.

I searched this site and found all kinds of diffferent recommendations depending on type of plug, type of coil, all kinds of different settings.

What I want to know is if there is a consensus on what the best setting is for a stock 2F with headers, Weber .38, and factory electronig ignition and coil.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is what I have gapped all ND/stock plugs at in similar applications to yours.

i would start with the ngk spec gap

I recently gapped my plugs to th manuls specs. it ran like sh#$
over gapper them to 45 runs great

0.8 to 1mm is what I used. just to metrically mess with your head. (mine are atcually gapped to .85mm)

Seems like it said .039 for USA vehicles...

I may have read it wrong.

I couldn't figure out why there wound be that much difference in plug gap for US versus non-US models.

Mine seems to be running good at .039 and it seems to start faster with that gap, too.

If you upgrade the coil to a higher voltage you should re-adjust the gap upward, but with the stock coil I would just leave it stock .32, Larry
