I just picked up the new Lowrance XOG for Christmas. It's supposed to be the same idea as the Crossover, but actually work! I'll let you know how it does offroad...

Bit of an older platform, but I've been really impressed with the Garmin 76Cx (although I find that I need the external antenna is required in the trees).
Good on the streets with entry being not to cumbersome and nice in the bush. With the variety of maps I loaded (topo and street), I got turn by turn routing down two-track overgrown roads in cool, direct, overland routes. Plus download/upload tracks, waypoints, routes, etc. to the laptop.

To answer an earlier question, the Nuvi 360 can use Gamin Topo maps. I just bought one for my wife and it is a great little unit. I use a Garmin 2720 with topos in the cruiser and I really like it.
