Just trying to calculate the proper American Wire Gage for the extension cord to run my 14 amp compressor. I was using this site to calculate the proper gauge. The compressor runs slugish with the existing extensions cable so I plugged the compressor directly into the wall and starts up very quickly!

Disregard the website. Did not look at it close enough and it was calculating for 12 volts. Anyway, what gauge cable 30-50 feet in length should be used with a single phase 14 amp compressor?

Thanks :)

You should be able to use 12 gauge. It wouldn't hurt to use 10 gauge, but it's not necessary.
