Haven't ran dual shield in a while. (2 Viewers)

What am I doing wrong?

.035. 68 wire speed 5 voltage. Millermatic 210. 75/25

approx 300 deg preheat.

Root was clean, and I'm grinding that porosity out before each pass, but is my 3/4 stickout too much, or not enough?

How old is the wire? If it's old and been stored with too much moisture it will always do that. I have better luck with a pull technique on dual shield, very little manipulation, fast travel speed. 3/4 stickout seems good.

It is old. But always stored in a file cabinet in my shop. With some anti rust paper wrapped loosely around it.

Fairly climate controlled, but it was 2nd drawer up from the bottom.

I was pushing with a rather steep angle (cose to 90) when it was the worst. And now that you mention it, there was a portion of it that I have very poor access to and I was dragging, and it seemed to be better.
