At the moment I own 1.5 cruisers. The first I ever owned came to me with a 350 swapped into it, mated with a four speed tranny. I have since acquired a truck that was meant to be parts for the first one, but once in my possession I am having a hard time convincing myself to scavenge off of it. It just seems too nice of a cool truck and all its missing is the rear part of the tub, engine, tranny and x-fer case.

Now to the point. I stopped by a garage sale today and found a 2F with tranny sitting near by. Intake bits and exhaust manifolds would come with it. It has about 75k miles on it and is said to run. Having never had or looked at an F or 2F, I am looking for help with what this combination would reasonably be worth in moderate shape? No rust, but a few parts would need to be put back together. Lets assume everything is there and in useable shape.

Thanks

Tough question.....I bought a '77 2F with 89K on it for $200.........but I rebuilt it anyway. So, from my experience I'd say $300-$800....but it depends on so many things. Have your heard it run? Compression? Oil Pressure? Shifted the gears? Looked at the oil, gear oil?

Lotsa unknowns here.....

That is a big assumption on "everything" and it greatly depends on the year.

Smog items?
Carburetor?
Power Steering capable. (3 holes in the side of the block below #1 intake runner).
Compression #'s
etc.

Lets assume everything is there and in useable shape.

Thanks

A good running complete 2F with no oil leaks from an FJ 60 in California comonly sell for $800.
Complete meaning all the emisison items are on it as well as the power steering pump, etc.

A Long Block from a ealier 2F I have seen sell for $300.

How much are they asking?

Can't help you with the value, but just wanted to say that you have MUCH better garage sales than where I live!

x2 Here either....

Thanks for all the responses. Yes, I know, big assumption on the everything, but I saw the pristine truck it came from sitting outside. The kid had gotten it from his grandpa and proceeded to swap the guts for a 350. If I don't get everything, I think I will just be able to call up, stop by and dig in the heap of stuff to find it.

I have done none of the testing that Degnol suggested, nor will I be able to, so I will have to factor that into the price. Really wish it came with a transfer case too, but oh well. For the record he is asking $500. I will have to think about how high I will go. Thanks for the help

Not a damn thang to me as I have them running out my ass........

Around here where they're not alot of landcruisers, so the market is slow. I usually sell motor, trans, xcase, can hear run, complete for around $700-$800. I pull it out and set on their trailer, I won't ship. Complete means they are getting alt, starter, coil etc. I dont pull any brackets or acces. It is no good to me just sitting around.

A questionable engine & trans somewhat torn apart & maybe not complete, my bid would be low.

100 dollars. If they say your crazy ask them why. For all we know the internals have been full of water. Unless you do a compression test you will never know the condition and even then it might be a shot in the dark.
