What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

After 10+ years running bucket seats from a Scion tC, I finally put some covers on.

Do you have a bikini top inside your hardtop?
I sure do. The front piece between the hardtop and the windshield has been gone since before I bought it. I never drive in the snow here in Utah because of the salt and so a couple of seasons ago, I just left the bikini on instead of stuffing pool noodles to fill the gap. It seems to work fine and I don't have to look at the shag carpet headliner that's up there. It also saves a step when taking off or putting back on the hardtop.

Maybe I'll refurbish the hardtop sometime in the next ten years and will address the gap but for now, I don't mind...the gap.

Finally got my 4plus tire carrier installed in between the kids’ baseball and softball tournaments. The only issue is that I should have gotten the tire + cooler carrier instead!

@OlYellr added these great mirrors to his 40 and I just hate that no matter how tight I make mine, at 55-60mph they move. So, I changed them. Initially shipped the actual mirror in July (been a while so I don’t even remember) and the arms just shipped a few days ago. The mirrors came tariff free.
The email said the arms are coming tomorrow via DHL …but, they want a duty tax of $41.00 additional.

The mirrors do no good without the arms so I paid it this morning around 8:00am…by 10:30am DHL delivered the box…a re-pack. Maybe they thought it was contraband?

Oh well…took 15 minutes and add the the assembly to the truck

I have been “adjusting” and finalizing the passenger Pro-Car seat. Some of the things I’ve run into…
Install the sliders on the seat and then the FJ40 mount to the sliders GO NO FURTHER
Once you’re ready to mount the assembly to the floor attach the cosmetic plastic recline lever to the seat with the single screw
Also attach the seat belts to the adapter mount on both sides. And finally, attach that entire assembly to the floor

Failing this, you face multiple situations where the space is very limited and more frustrating. Got it done but would have taken about 90 minutes less having followed those plans above.

I don know if I’m using the headrests.

It’s been a tough 2 weeks,,,, between 3 good cuts, a dumb stupid burn on my fingers, a wild attack of a-fib and trying to get 80lbs on the torque wrench…. I am wiped out!

Wish I was closer. I’d be there hurting with you

I THINK…. Because of the extra seat height and then the head rests, I appears to block more of my vision out the back…. I don’t really know because I added the head rests and quit for the day

Finally dealt with a mystery dmv snafu and got my sticker.
They said there was a problem with my registration so I went to a satellite place to check it out. She said they wanted more money. I showed her the receipt where I paid their fees in total (reg $161/year, plus late fee of $27 for being 3 days late 🤬) online. No explanation but she made the extra fees go away and gave me a sticker. For a fee of course. 🤣

Was that a "bolt on" or did you need to drill and fit. I'd hate to give up my bumperettes.

In Texas they got rid of the mandatory Safety Inspection and now there "No inspection" fee (or some similar crap wording) so you still pay the phantom $7.50, but you don't have to get inspected.

In WA, you get to pay a $0.25 “license plate technology” fee. Then my motorcycle gets a $25 road weight fee and a $10 “excess weight” fee on top of that.

All my old stuff gets collector plates so a 1 time charge and never have to register or pay fees again. Until they change that and add an annual fee….
