What happened to my CV joints after lift?

Do you have a picture of your needle adapter? I need to do the same thing, add a bit more grease.

I bought this one. Worked perfectly. I was able to slide it under the boots, both inboard and out board, pumped in a few pumps of grease and called it a day.

Also, the new bands I used were sourced here (note that I only had to replace a couple bands on each side so this 6 piece kit was enough, if you have leaks at each band I think you need to buy the 10 piece kit.): CV clamp kit (6 piece)

Thanks for the link. What grease did you use? I will order the needle grease valve in just a bit.

For an update; I went through both boots very carefully last night and found no cracks or tears of anykind. It looks like all of the grease is coming out the end of the boot. I will pick up the hose clamp kit and try to get it all taken care of this weekend. Hopefully I don't loose too much more grease before that time comes.

What grease should I pick up for the CV joints? The grease needle and clamp kit have been ordered.

Edit: Nevermind. Just pulled out the grease gun and still have 2/3rds of a tube left from greasing the chasis on the 80 series. It's the Valvoline brand for Import/Japanese suspension components. Should be fine.

Figured I would give a final update to this thread. I cleaned up all the grease. Decided not to use the pressure washer. Just soaked everything in degreaser then scrubbed it all really good. Both sides took about 2hrs. from start to finish. The cleaning took most of the time. The hose clamp install took a couple minutes. Here's a pic. I have since put 120 miles on it and not a spec of grease on either shaft. Everything still looks perfect. I will keep on eye on the CV boots to make sure it doesn't come back. So far so good.

So I installed a 2.25" lift up front and 1.75" out back. I adjusted the AHC sensors front and rear to gain that height. I then added 40mm coil spacers to the springs out back to help get the AHC number back in spec. I also adjusted the T-bars up front until Techstream showed I was back in spec. I then added some AHC shock spacers from Japan 4x4 to make sure I was riding at the center of the shocks even though I was at the higher "H" setting. Everything rides great and I was very happy with the lift. I am still able to cycle the suspension through a L,N, and H settings without issue. I decided to add some 1" wheel spacers to help with the stance on the new 275/70/18 tires. when I took the front tires off I noticed grease all over the place. It wasn't there when I installed the lift. It looks like it's coming from the end of the boot that covers the CV joint on the front axle shafts. There is grease sprayed all around the fender and suspension components. Not sure what's going on. Did I damage something? Do I need to pick up a Slee Diff Drop Kit? Here is what I found for reference.

I found your other thread Rear 80 series springs VS 100 series springs where you were contemplating using 80/100 rear coils w/ your AHC system.

What rear springs did you end up using?

This has inspired me to get rolling on the greasing/lubing on my '05. Any reccos on a starter kit of fittings and/or a non-POS grease gun that won't make a mess in my hands?

I am not the OP, but someone above contributed this:

I just did an ahc sensor lift today 1.5“ over factory and litterly as soon as I took a left out of my driveway my cv made a clicking sound.

Only does it on very tight left turns (full lock). If I get a diff drop can I save my cv's? I really dony feel like spending $500+ on a new cv. Truck has 75k miles
