You are missing the voltage regulator.

there seem to be alot of different types I wasnt sure how to go about getting the right one for this alternator

yup thats why i bought its a denzo oem, very beefy heavy unit, I'm happy just need the right VR to go with it

Anyone know what the VR part# is from toyota?
Sub'ing to this thread because I have some aftermarket one on there and who knows how long it will last.
Also, did you get the Toyota OE pulley on there or no?

Standard Motor Products

voltage regulator= VR-160 $20 (v. good quality)

Toyota # 27700-38100-84 (only avail as a reman unit, or so the part # indicates)
