I'm new to the sport and have recently discovered my 80 has lockers. What do they do exactly and when do you use them?

OH.......NO HE DIDN'T! I'm just jealous so you'll have to forgive me! :flipoff2:

To answer your question, they lock the diffs, allowing your truck to climb obstacles like a mountain goat. In other words, it makes it the most capable stock truck out there.

Welcome to the forum :flipoff2: .

More specifically: Have you ever seen a truck (or car) stuck in mud or snow. Ever notice how one wheel spins and one does not? Lockers lock the two sides of each exle together so that they either spin at the same rate, or you get traction and get moving.

I hate to say this, but JUNK is in control! :D

He has done an excellent job so far. I found the FAQ very helpful.

That particular, much priffited from, link has been a lot of help to me when I was new ( a whole 4 months ago!) when trying to understand my newfound friend.

Brentbba sent me a request to add it to the FAQ list, so it has been.

Any time someone identifies something that they feel should be added, just let me know.

The one I posted was from George Couyant from www.lcool.org - there are a lot of great tech articles there.

You Da :princess: Junk!
