I like the simplistic design of that.

I used 1/4" angle iron welded like you mentioned, but i bolted it to the bumperette holes first so i'd be sure they matched, then i've got a receiver hitch that goes to a plate that bolts to the factory hitch holes, with a reinforcing plate on the backside, so it sandwiches the frame there. might be some bad pics in my potw thread.
