craigslist What do you all think. Triple locked in NE

It looks pretty clean for a Midwest truck. Might be repainted?

I think it would be worth a look. Probably needs suspension.

Too much for a 200k mile 80. It's funny how folks say "just broke in" or " nothing on these". It has 200k miles on it! A lot of miles in my book. Check that "All" engine gaskets include the head gasket and offer $7k. People are going nuts asking for all sorts of money for rigs that are meh. My 2cents.

I kind of thought the same thing. After watching these threads for a while I thought about 7 grand was about right. Thanks!

I looked at this one. Mechanically not bad. He came from Cali so no rust underneath. However, it is rusting around the windshield & back glass. Needs shocks. Decent platform for a Ugly Betty build. Nice guy. I am sure I will pay too much for a truck I when buy one, but it won't be this one. He is getting a little desperate. 7k might buy it. Since he is a nice guy I am not going to be the one who offers the 6k it' worth.

I can't speak to this particular one you're looking at, but 200k on a Land Cruiser wouldn't bother me a bit if it's been maintained even reasonably well -- some would consider a car driven only an average of 9k miles a year to be low mileage. (BTW, my son has a '99 4Runner with almost 400k miles on it and we've only done the regular maintenance on it; still runs strong.) Regarding the "what's it worth" perspective, if you've been watching MUD classifieds then you've seen stock 80's are all over the map... you'll see ones that are triple locked usually go for as low as $7k to over $13k; truly meeting the definition "what someone is willing to pay". It goes without saying, no matter what, you'll need to plan to put some money into it -- it's a 20+ yr old vehicle. That's just the way it is.
All I can say is, you'll have a good idea of what it's worth to you, after looking at it in person, driving it, and ideally (if possible) if you can find a MUD member nearby who knows what to look for to act as a second set of eyes for you (maybe offer beer & pizza as a 'thanks for helping me out') ;) Good luck with your search -- wait for the one you really like. As long as you're happy with what you pay, who cares what anyone else thinks.

Great information/advice. This is my first time posting and you guys are super helpful. Anyone around Omaha that wants to check it out with me this Friday or Saturday? I don't drink but I enjoy simple carbs with cheese just as much as anyone.

Isn't Overland Park in south Kansas City?

Well I thought I was a mud member. I live in Topeka KS 1hr from KC. I drove that truck.
1. Nice guy.
2. Mechanically sound truck.
3. Decent interior, not trashed at all.
4. Excellent underneath for that many miles. I loved that.
5. Body has issues. What you won't see in photos is the somewhat common rust dripping from back glass seals.
There is also rust developing around top of seal on windshield.
There was body work done on passenger rear quarter. I showed him that. ( I do paint & body work )
6. Nice guy.
What I don't get is he listed the truck in KC craigslist for 8500.
I seriously considered that truck, I liked it. But I don't want one that needs that much cosmetic work.

Yes. I'm there all the time (actually on the way there now) if the OP wants me to take a look. I know its already been looked at but in a multitude of counselors there is safety. As for my two cents, 200k would really bother me. I bought a 189k LX and have had zero issues other than routine maintenance. It now has 215K. It really boils down to what you're willing to pay...

Does it look like it had poor work performed?
