Here's the difference in squat between the 80 springs w/ 2" spacers and the TJMs... TJMs ride much nicer than the 80 springs by a long shot, too.

What did you order and where?
Very rare tires custom made just for me!

Actually - Michelin Defender (LTX MS). I think if I went in and said "I'd like your most generic tire please" that's what they'd give me. :) But I've been mostly pleased with the current set. They're quiet and have great traction for an all season on snow and ice. Ordered at Costco. I went for a 295/70/18 this time. Probably why they're a bit slower to arrive.

The main reason I'm replacing is the picture below. I'm not sure what's causing that uneven wear. It's only this one spot. And there's no other obvious wear like excessive toe or camber issues. The rest of the tire or any of the others are not overly worn on that outer side. My best guess is that I may have damaged the tire from harsh impacts. They're P rated tires and I tow about 50-60% of my miles and the roads are pretty rough here. I'll be moving to LT tires. The tire doesn't seem to have any noticeable imbalance. But it's obiously started wearing funny. Since they're getting near the end of life anyway I figured I'd just buy some new ones.

Ah yeah makes sense with Cosco.

I think I could have tires within 3 days if not next day.

But you are Alaska?

What exact springs are you running? How much lift did you achieve.

They're in my sig. The truck's at about 4". On the 1st gen Sequoias, stock 80 series springs provide 2" of lift and the TJMs I have provide a 2" lift on an 80. The stock 80 springs were fine initially, but as I added more and more crap to the back of the truck and started carrying around more and more trail gear, squat just kind of crept in without really noticing it. The bike is a new thing and once that went on the back, I knew I had to do something. I had the TJMs sitting around for years and figured I'd give them a try before forking out $130 or whatever for the Firestone bags. Kinda wish I did it sooner because they ride a lot nicer, even with the roughly 300 lbs. of bike and carrier hanging off the hitch. That said, having a second bike on the back with a Moto Jack Rack plus camping gear and provisions for a long weekend is in the works, so bags may very well be in the future.

Yeah, Costco + Alaska = plan ahead. I am genuinely grateful that Costco is here though. Just the savings on beef brisket alone! They just use standard national pricing for tires so it's the cheapest place around by a big margin. Still $5/gal for milk, but it was $1,475 for the tires at Costco. Local tire dealers were all about $2,100. Tire Rack is $2,025 for the tires with the shipping fee added and then I'm still going to add another $100-150 for the install.

Definitely pays to wait in this case

I’m fed up with my driver seat in my 16 TRD Pro.

I’m at the point of trading trucks, I like this truck. However cannot love it because the seat sucks.

I am 5-10 and a leaner 200lbs. I honestly feel too small for the seat.

I slide all over, basically sit on plywood and don’t like driving any distance in it.

Maybe I’m looking for an excuse to change trucks, but I really thought this was my forever truck. I will not deal with this seat forever.

Leg position doesn’t seem to matter, so I don’t think the seat jackers will help.

I don’t want to do a seat swap as they never seem to be right.

Just needed to get that out in the open

Cheaper to swap seats to scheel-mann than to a new vechicle.

This was one of my main reasons for ditching my 2nd Gen for a 1st Gen. I was super uncomfortable in it. I'm also 5'10" 200lbs and had the same exact complaints. Mine was an 08 SR5 with the cloth seats, and all I saw online was people raving about how they were the most comfortable seats out of all the trim levels 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve seen posts here and over on the tundra forum about seat jackers. I just don’t see how raising the front of the seat up approx 1” makes the seat more comfortable. I definitely understand it can help seating position, however I’m still going to be sitting on a piece of plywood with cork board on it. I can see this being a benefit on long drives. As soon as I get in mine and put it in gear I’m uncomfortable. First world problems.

The early gen2 seats are for sure softer “squishier” than my seats. I can’t say I have sat in one long enough to know otherwise.

I keep thinking I need to just post mine on mine and see what happens. Put a dumb number on it and let it go if it goes. Then find something to replace it.
