Drove mine to the woods to do a little late season archery elk hunting. The drive in was a piece of cake, the drive out not so much. The snow made for a major pucker factor.

Woke up to snow. The Forty was pushing the Tundra down road. Not fun! Took it slow and made it back to town without issue.

I do love this setup. Maybe a tow dolly would work better?

Rotated the tires on my tundra this weekend. I’ve had the truck for two years now and had yet to rotate the tires over the past 22K miles. They are wearing evenly, but I still thought it was good practice to rotate them. Don’t have a matching spare, so just the four get rotated. Also a good excuse to use the new cordless impact gun.

I had a set of tire chains for my old 31x10.5r15’s that I replaced on my 40. Although they do not appear to cross over and cover the 265/70r16 on the tundra(according to the website), they did appear to fit. I don’t have all that much experience with tire chains, if you think there is a problem please chime in.

That's a great set of impacts. We have had ours in the shop for over a year. Sooo much better than the pneumatic guns.

Replaced my stock shocks with 7k mile take-offs from a 2019. Big improvement! You can see my rear shocks were spent.

Also took the opportunity to anti-seize my skid plate bolts and all of my brake caliper bolts. My steps are rusting from the inside out I’m fairly certain. Only been through one winter since moving from Texas :(

Picked up a 4’x8’ utility trailer. Plans are to get it road worthy, and use it to launch my pontoon boat this winter.

Did you have any issues with the washer on the top of the shaft under the hat being loose after you tightened the top lock nut? For some reason the Bilstein 5100 I just put together it's like the shaft isn't long enough for the coil. I verified part numbers and they are correct.

I had no issues, using all stock parts. Make sure you’re using the Bilstein provided washers. Sounds like bottom washer is the wrong size.

Bilstein didn't provide any washers. Directions said to use all stock washers and bushings except the top lock nut which they provide. This is the second set of the 5100s I've put on a tundra. Didn't have this with the first.

That doesn’t sound right. Contact Bilstein to double check part numbers.

Ordered a replacement deck with Apple CarPlay and the iDataLink Maestro. Apparently it can be programmed to retain the SXM w/o having to by a separate SXM receiver. I’m not sure if I’ll get it installed this weekend or not, but I’ll let y’all know how it goes.

The deck is the Kenwood DMX 7706S. Is there anyone else considering doing this that has specific questions?

I have on question that I’ll search for, but since the factory AUX USB port isn’t compatible with CarPlay or Android Auto because it’s not USB 2.0, do you have any suggestions to solve that. I’d like to use the blank to the right of the passengers seat climate control dial, but would love to see some cool hacks.

Figured it out. I pulled them apart and looked again. I never put the dust boots on casue I think it looks stupid. The new dust boot has a metal spacer in the top that takes up the gap. So there you go. Put the boot on and good to go

My 120 series needed work so we took the sequoia with trailer and stayed the night in Las Vegas. Good thing too, the 120 needed a lot of work (maintenance only thankfully). The 120 guys know my dog likes to play contortionist in the gx, sprawling in ways that baffle the mind. I thought maybe you guys would enjoy what he does in the sequoia. He gets real comfortable with all the extra space.
