Ran Cat5 cables in truck for Ham radios. meh

Replaced the rear wiper blade, fixed a vacuum leak, and drove it around the block. Big stuff, I know.

Glad to hear from you. I got worried the other day.

pulled the transfer case off the 80, found the last person in it decided to not put a bearing under the low gear on the idler shaft... also the main housing has been welded from one end to the other.. the front nose cone had been hit hard enough to break the ring retaining lip that holds the bearing in place...

Found another case from a 91, spend 5 hours in the rain and mud pulling it, on wobbly jack stands, with wheels/tires and logs as safety supports...every 15 min or so the puddles from the tarp covering the body with no roof would dump half a gallon of water in my crotch.. had to buy new jeans to get in my step fathers 2010 truck.. walked 50 yard on gravel barefoot and did not feel a thing due to my feet being numb. I have hobbled the two cases together to make the one I need.

Replacing front driveshaft.

Changed the oil in the 40 and found chunks of metal, I lost them before I could verify if they were magnetic or not.... does not look good, but I will drive it until it dies. Changed the gear oil in the 40's transfer case and transmission, now it sounds better. Will install a trollhole carb this weekend, along with a larger PS pump pulley, and getting new tires this week too. I am pretty sure they will be BFG AT 33/1050/15...

Mud being down has its advantages!

The video of the first drive was like the blair witch project, which I didn't post, so that's why it starts off in the backyard. A little fine tuning and she is good to go!

- New 2.5" IronMan leaf springs and shocks due to a minor fender-bender (not our fault) that bent one of the front leaf springs.

- Rebuilt driver and passenger doors with all new parts and seals
- Rebuilt transfer case due to a leaky front seal
- Replaced the alternator and voltage regulator with a new higher amperage alternator with a built-in regulator

Can you believe that the transfer case and alternator only lasted 43 years! What's going on with Toyota lately? The parts should have at least lasted 50 years. ;)

watching that video of chuck working on the 2f has me itching to get mine back up and running. Going to order the replacement belt so I can start it up and see what happens! Was not smoking when I cut it off!

in the 80-new valve cover breather hose, new speedo oring, new ujoints in the front driveshaft-installed, (7 pin mod, cdl switch-cant remember if I posted those..),
new liftgate shocks, $45 delivered from ebay, vs $220 from RHT, and these installed perfectly and are working great
wiggled my o2 sensor and the CEL went off.. must be a bad connection.

reinstalled the center console and transmission shifter cover, I used my heat gun to heat the latch hooks on the console to get them to grab better,,, so far they seem to be working great... I might take them off to bend them a little more.

lowered my COG with a few 100lbs of mud and added a sweet uwharrie paint job all while getting to finally meet some folks I've know on mud for near 10 yrs

Installed new Metal-Tech lower control arms on the rear axle. The poly bushings in the old arms were so worn out they literally fell out when I unbolted them. That would explain some of the clunky-ness I had. Also discovered cracks in the frame mounts that need patching up.

Last week:

Put a roof rack I picked up for cheap on my 40

Brake kit came in for the 55. Still needs a floor on the drivers side

New brake pads all the way around in the 80, PO used some under and over sizes ones... Old front pads hung off the rotor 1/8", and rears were 1/4" inside outer edge...

Got my front and rear diff locks to engage and lights to stay on, just some exercising and reconnect the front sensor wire.
I reinstalled some of the skid and mud plates..

I am running out of things to do on the 80, until I get my 30 ton press (to change out the suspension bushings) .........maybe I will go ahead and build the sliders and front bumper, finish the rear bumper and storage boxes for the 62 while I wait for the refreshed engine.. I guess I could order the h55 and mate the transfer case to it..but that would only take a few hours...

Had new tires mounted and balanced. Installed them Friday night, then headed to SEOs customer appreciation day Saturday and picked up the new front bumper. It was installed Saturday night.

Why do you have to pull the whole motor to install a turbo. Or is 3b going bye bye as a whole.
