What did you do with your truck this week?

Yep, I had the EMS as well. The flange was bent and was causing premature failure on the gaskets. MagnaFlow fit perfect.

Bought a new shifter housing to replace the worn out one (the gates are worn smooth so the shift guide pin fell out).
Also got Icon front and rear suspension on order and some Timbren bump stops.

I am also ordering new OEM CVs so I can start on the long travel front with known good CVs to swap into the longer axles.

GX gonna get smoooth for the new years!

It certainly does! It still works, but it pops out of L to 2, which is annoying.

Or install this replacement part and good to go for another 160k! :P

Had the afternoon off today so I swung by Cabelas. My front seats are cracking pretty good and the driver's seat bottom is 50% Gorilla Tape. They had these on sale for $18 each. Fit pretty good.

Brought home two more today. '77 Suzuki PE250 and a '84 Yamaha IT200.

The 60 is a slug towing on the interstate. Can I still be a member if I sell it and buy a 5.7 L Tundra?

Daniel, as much as I love our 5.7 Sequoia, I really don't think I'd buy a truck again if it wasn't a diesel.

It's a strong motor, but the mileage is terrible already and with a load on it, you drop to 8 mpg max.

In a few years I'm planning to get a crew cab diesel for that reason.

*edit, no plans to get rid of the Cruiser.

Man I'd love to have an old bike like that.

Thanks for the advice. You're gonna need the crew cab for sure! :) By then you can turn the 80 into a wheelin' truggy and just tow it around. ;)

I like the old body style 7.3 Powerstroke Ford's. Maybe I'll find one that hasn't been pimped out for "rolling coal".

Yeah, my brother in law has a 2002 F450 dually with a flatbed on it and a 7.3, 4x4. It's a monster. It's no speed demon, but he tows a 40 foot horse trailer loaded with 5 horses, 10+ dogs, and their living quarters loaded up and it doesn't skip a beat.

I'm hoping by the time I'm ready the 6.7's will be somewhat affordable. I've seen several guys with 5th wheel car haulers at four wheeling events that put an old slide in truck bed camper on/over the fifth wheel and pull their cruiser up behind it. So far, it's the most ideal set up I've seen. Pull up, drop the trailer, pull truck off, ready to go for camping and four wheeling.

I figure you'll need more than a slide with the kiddos ;)

Lol. I actually put my second and third row seats back in for the first time in a couple years to figure out loading arrangements. I think I have it figured out pretty well for the time being, since all the camping supplies will go in the trailer. I'm sure it will be a learning process as we go, though.

Pulled my front driveshaft out today because one of my ujoints started squealing (double cardan). None of them feel loose or look bad and greasing them up good didn't help.

I'll be driving around in 2wd until I can get some new ujoints ordered up. Sucks having to buy 3, but I figure they are all the same age so I'll just replace them all.

Fixed the front driveshaft today and stabbed myself with the needle fitting on my grease gun.

Ready for our blizzard Monday now.

At least you didn't drop rust in your eye... Or whatever happened... (shudders...)

Yeah I hope we get snow. Marshalls trip to sassafras last time has me stoked. Need to re seal some of the bolts to my tcase though. Leaking something fierce.

We picked up a 2016 Crewmax Tundra a few months ago and I love that thing. I do all city driving up and down hwy 14 so my MPG are just ok. Around 15mpg.

I agree with Teddy, I seriously thought about a F250 for a long time but couldn't justify it since the most I tow is 6k for a pontoon and 2k for a CC boat.

I guess technically I'm still a member of the club since my $15 bucks keeps getting drafted out of my acct.
