Some more touring near my place today. What used to be logging roads were almost impassable in some spots. We left our trucks to check out the trail ahead and saw it was blocked by another beaver dam. On the way back, we got lost and couldn't find our trucks.

Not this weekend, but I stumbled across this photo tonight, and it exemplifies why I own an 80.
My friend Mark snapped the picture while my gin and tonic and I were watching the evening wildlife roll in along the Ikuu River, in Katavi National Park, out in western Tanzania. End-of-the-Earth kind of place, and Mark's Japanese-import 80 (the blue and silver one) has a factory ice-maker in the center console.

Loving the black wheel fenders

Last week actually, but this is the only pic I have. Mounted the roof top tent and tested it out in Crested Butte; it works excellent and very comfortable!

I added the 3rd and 4th aftermarket parts to the rig. I am frequently coming down fire roads at night after watching the sun set and the stars (and satellites) come out and found that the stock headlights suuuuuuuuuuuuck off road. So, hopefully the eBay cheapies will help out. I'll know in a few hours here when it gets dark. :)

Been driving around hitting up all the best mountain biking spots in Colorado while off roading everywhere possible.

I have also been trying to take photos at every gas station we stop at to fill up. By the time they are put into a slideshow, it might be 10 minutes long.

I was just there picking up some tractor parts with my brother and friend. He said most of that land is private and has been for over a hundred years...old money...and is used for hunting. Did you encounter that?
Yeah, there is a lot less open land like the east half of the UP. Still, there were plenty of 2 track roads around. I guess Henry Ford had a huge private camp there way back as well. The Eagle copper mine is there and they turned a two track county road into a paved highway nicer than US2 running back to Marquette for the ore haulers . Business is good I guess
