Back from Paint finally! Looks incredible! Naked, smooth, shiny..

Now the decision. I took off cladding and flares. Welded all 373 holes.I bought the KutSnake flares from down under. They’re painted and ready to install. But having 4th thoughts.

Keep her stripped or put on the KutSnake flares?
No flares. Looks excellent. Don't add aftermarket flares

Nice!! I did Potts mtn a few times on 2 wheels, really need to take the LC down there.
Yea I bet 2 wheels was fun. I'd also imagine an 80 series is the biggest vehicle that could fit on that trail.

Front and rear track bars on an 80 do not take the same size bolt, so even the the OD's are the same, the bushings are not technically interchangeable.
Good call, thank you! At first I didn't believe you, but I checked the baggies and indeed different part numbers (I could have sworn they were the same part), also measured the holes and the rear hole is a little bigger. Ordered a new bushing at the dealership, should be here tomorrow. I also apparently need a new drag link (destroyed my bench vise and workbench trying to get one of the ends out), so depending on when that comes in I will either replace the bushing or just run it to get the truck out of the garage.

This weekend I went up to Big Bear Lake and did Gold Mountain Trail. I did this same trail in my 100 series last year and honestly I struggled in the 100 with some of the more technical sections that require the right line. Went up this time in the 3x locked 80 and needless to say it was much easier. If anyone has been on this trail they know there are a handful of tough sections and it makes for a great day.

No action shots, but my friend is the head of Marketing for Eibach so he's always working/taking photos.

I like flares personally.

Got another 81 in the shop for some love.

This one is getting slinky coils, Icon shocks, Delta radius arms, adjustable panhards and all new OEM bushings.

Cheers

Fixed my left (Driver's Side) outside mirror.

I had Floppy Mirror Syndrome, but to fix it, I had to undo my Shaky Mirror Syndrome fix I did 7 years ago (silicone caulk and slobber it all together).

So, I fixed my SMS by using the drill, wire, epoxy, and re-machine the slot fix.

Then I fixed my FMS by cutting new grooves in the post, making a tool to press it all together, then scratching the driver's door on the truck (fortunately didn't break the glass) by dropping the stack of parts over and over until I got the combination just right to press it all back together, and inserting the clip 90° to the direction it was.

Here's a tip:
Just buy the "fix" part from Absolute Wits' End (@NLXTACY ) because by the time I got done with buying a locking collar, cutting out one side to make a tool, then cutting the slots, dropping s*** all over, and cussing frequently, I figured out that I spent WAAAAYYY more time and money trying to do it my way vs if I would have just bought the damn fix-it part from him.

I probably have 8+ hours into doing this mirror fix since I had to do both.

Doh!

Installed mirror brackets to make both sides solid again.

@BGMachine Just curious if the chains and guide on these engine are required to be replaced at a certain mileage?
What red truck looking is that in front of the 80?

I don't know. I didn't see anything about it in my research but it doesn't mean I didn't overlook it.

That's my 67 Jeep M715. I've V10 swapping it and turning it into my primary exploration truck.
