Installed new water pump. I ordered the water from RockAuto.com because I did not want some Chinese crap. I spent a pretty penny on my 5.3 vortex install and I want all American parts on my American V8. And guess what ........it's remanufactued in FU€£¥*# CHINA !!!!!!! AUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHHHH !!!!!!!

New Chinese Re- manufacturers water pump all bolted up. Not too bad of a job. I say little bit easier to get out then the original 2F motor. However I waited to the high of the day of 44 degrees.

What I did this weekend/holidays was finally finish my install of the seat covers I got from cruisercorps.com I will be making a separate more in depth post later but feel free to PM me later over info. :):):):):):)

I got the covers some time ago and took my time installing them using Hog Rings for the first time, AND MY GOD go ahead and hunt down or spring for the sites Hog Ring Pliers for this cause long nose pliers are not safe for this, If you like your fingers. That being said by the second seat I pretty much had this down and I think they turned out great! I also got a Tuffy Center Console and a new seat cushion from SOR for the driver seat, and if you dont know I am now sitting at least 2.5 inches higher than before I shoved that in the seat covers. I also took some basic 2 inch foam and put it under the less fortunate seat covers to add comfort and it had an amazing effect overall.

All around great seat covers well worth the money for them and no swap ass post install at all. Next thing to tackle will be air conditioning :frown::frown::frown::frown::frown::frown::frown:

so how difficult was to rebuild the Carb?
Actually not overly hard. Think I was able to do mine in about 4hrs with lots of referencing Pin_Heads videos on Youtube.

Those seats look great!

I went playing in the snow with the HJ 61 and my son. Good times. The factory cable lockers came in handy a couple times.

That truck is hot. I so dig the orangey red stripes. How old is your son?

Thanks, I go back and forth between wanting to remove the original stripes ( japanese import) and keeping them. My son is 3 yrs old. Lots of fun adventures loading him up and taking him cruising.

Great photos. Memory makers certainly. I really like the paint scheme for your 61.

Today I installed my new radiator. (Thanks Santa.) Burped the system (never knew about this until I read it here on the forum) wish I knew who to thank for that post/instructions. I read sooo many. It ran about an hour while I burped it, heater was blowing really warm before it was over. The temp needle stayed slightly below the middle of the gauge.

Mmmmm! Cable lockers:)

@Sooke my son is 3.5yo and my truck knocks him out too. :) Many years ago my dad had an old Scottsdale diesel pickup and it knocked me out at 15yo.
There's something about the drone of a big engine.

That's funny. I completely agree it's the drone of the diesel. He doesn't fall asleep in mom's LX470.

Now if I could get our 7 month old son on the same program I would be set. :)

Give him time.
