What did you do with your 60 this weekend? (2 Viewers)

Finally put reeves bumpers on. Also recently changed my dash pad ( from Beno). Added Freeway Blasters from Fiamm. Changed my clutch fan, which is actually called a fluid coupler. Was tempted to do the fan shroud modification but I'm glad I didn't. I'm not in that much of a hurry! Had my throttle valve cable changed. I love tinkering on this beauty. Some music. A couple beers. Buying tools that you absolutely have to have. Nothing better.
Oh yeah...and the windshield wiper upgrade from Beno. Totally worthwhile.

Looks good! Send me a few more shots of the bumpers. New site will have a customer gallery.

Thx!

Some of you know I'm working on a tailgate storage system for the 60, 80 and 100 series. Along with quarter panel storage for the 60.

The cat is out of the bag in the 80 and 100 forums... so I might as well share a little here.

All lids will have a split door option (I may make it the standard)

Here it is on a 100 lid. Guys with drawers will be able to open drawers and lids alternately as needed. Lids will open outwards for more "table" space.

very nice idea with the split opening! is that marine carpet I site the tail gate? what did you use to adhere it to the metal? do you think it'll hold up to gear shifting around? I might copy that idea

Flushed my brake system....
Took almost two 32 oz bottles, until the brake fluid came out nice, and clear on all four calipers...

I think I'm done with my floor mods. :)

I like the darker tan vs. the yellowish 464 code used on the 60s.

That color looks similar to the 4V6 FJC Quicksand color I painted the trailer. I like the grayish color of the 40 Dave, a little lighter and shinier ICON look about it.

We had the paint shop mix some samples. We were looking for a military-ish green/brown. I think the inspiration was a middle eastern military color

I like the paint color. Maybe with a different color top though, but whatever the client wants , right.

Question? What's up with the rear shackles. Have I been putting them on wrong all these years or is there reasoning behind it for this build?

It does look like the rear shackles on the FJ40 are upside down.

Funny-Peterson's once had a cover of one of the mags with an FJ60 pictured clearly from the rear quarter. The anti-inversion shackles were not only upside down, they were backwards (Triangle pointing out the back!), showing just how clueless they were.
