Removed hopefully to never be installed back in the 80. But maybe as backseats in the 40 some day?

I was going to get rid of mine but I like the idea of re-purposing them in the 40.

I am sure we all know that feeling and how bad it hurts though guys aren't "supposed" to talk like that........ That's the kind of pic to enlarge and frame.
Hang in there.

Thanks for the condolences. Funny how the goofy critters get under your skin. A friend told me he couldn't figure out why his wife was giving him dirty looks the other day after he threw a piece of food down on the kitchen floor. It took him a minute to realize what he had done and to explain. His dog died 5 years ago.

What QT size Yetti? I need mine to haul Deer meat in the winter. 75, 110 or the 120?

Yeah, again, LOVE the Yeti. But I think ours is only the 65qt. I think that is all our second mortgage we had to take out to buy it was worth ;) Still beats cost/hassle of a fridge I suspect.

Sold them so I can buy crack

I know you asked the 80's to chime in, but since my 4Runner actually has them I thought I'd give my .02 too. :D

My third row stays in my rig cause once we ship it they will be put to use regularly by workers, tourists, kids... I ever went as far as to have them re-apolstered with the rest of the seats in marine sailboat canvas...Super tough material!

Is that your Jeep Cherokee on the street?

My wife agreed to the purchase of the Cruiser because it had third row seats. So we could tote visiting family around in one vehicle while they visit.
I look forward to the day when I can yank them out and begin building my expo rig.
In the mean time if anyone really hates theirs, has taken them out and or they don't mind cannibalizing theirs; I really could use the little plastic bushings, between the seat bracket and mounting bar, and the wrap around carpet sleeves.

It's the wife's :D been in the family since new... now it has 206,000 miles on it! You can't kill those straight 6's. She'd love to have a sweet Yota but to much money to spend on the new co.

Sold mine as soon as I bought my rig.

In fact I have no rear seats with the second row wrapped up and sitting in a storage shed.

Like all the replies. Saw a guy post this on another forum EP I believe about home made drawers for the back.

I'm new to the forum and have just made a set of draws for the back of our PRADO for the total cost of $110. I built ours out of MDF (figuring that they are in a sealed environment so won't be getting wet), the packing sheets cost nothing and the dearest items were the latches (which are the stainless "T" handle twist flush mount style and key lockable). It's all carpeted and looks like a bought job, so I'm stoked with the outcome. The only downside is that the slides are your typical Bunnings jobs until I can get some industrial runners.

They are anchored via the rear seat anchors, I simply removed the bracket and utilised the bolt holes. Too easy. The system is easily removeable as well....

Parts:

2x latches bought from a caravan and camping store in Kalgoorlie $35 a piece. I'm sure you can get these cheaper, but there are'nt too many places that stock this sort of gear in Kal!

2x sheets 2400x1200, of 16mm MDF (could substitute with Marine Ply but costs will go up). See your local timber merchant as their packing sheets are usually worthless. Mine cost nothing.

1x sheet of 12mm 1200x600 MDF for the drawers. Cost nothing again!

1x box of 40mm wood screws.

1x box of 25mm wood screws.

1x tin of carpet adhesive.

1x roll of grey marine carpet material.

2x pairs of draw runners 600mm long from Bunnings $20 total.

Alot of the above was gear I already had, such as the screws and the glue. I will also be upgrading the drawer runners at alater stage with items from CBC Bearings or an Industrial type supplier, however these will cost around the $100 mark for a pair???

When I get home next break I will measure up and see if I've got any more pics i can post up....

One thing that you can't see from the pics is the access holes on either side behind the 6th and 7th seat mounts. It is still usable space and i have cut some oval sections in the top to allow access. You can't see them as they were carpeted over and then the carpet was cut with a razor blade. They are basically an interferance fit and do the job nicely.

I've added some basic measurements below for anyone to reference from.

~~~pics would not load, will try again
Mine stay in the basement and get regular Zaino leather treatment. They're in such good shape, as are the rest of my seats, that I felt the need to keep and maintain them.
My LC is not a daily driver and mainly used for camping. Second and third row seats are normally out cuz it's usually just me and the dogs, or me and my son and the dogs.
Third row seats are stowed in the garage, but for me they are my goto additional seating when needed, because they are so easy to put in or take out of the vehicle. For family trips where the wife comes along, I like the ease with which I can just throw the third row seats back in. As an added bonus, my son, who is 11, prefers being way back there; especially with a friend. We like it too.
One of these days, I'll get around to installing some rear drawers and a sleeping platform in the LC. When that happens, I guess I won't be using the third row seats again.
Have the 2 3rd row seats as well as the passenger side 2nd row seat in the garage. I love having all that extra space in my rig!
I gave mine away and now the second row is out and they might end up in the same place... Since its me and maybe a passenger every once and a while..
Mine have never worn a butt. They are now superb dust collectors.
They were great hauling around as many as six boy scouts. They are currently wrapped up in plastic bags and up in the attic. One hinge has become a permanent mount for my CO2 mounting bracket - see pic in the FAQ introduction section. Fridge is now on one side and drawer on the other side. I doubt they'll ever see the light of day again. I used to do the limo thing with my kids too. Folded the 2nd row forward and the kids loved the extra stretch limo leg room.
currently collecting dust in the basement. I am probably going to reinstall one to prevent the "dad, she's touching me again"
I thought maybe one middle out and one 3rd seat out. would give extra room and keep kids from arguing some.
I fold up the second row and make the kids sit the third row all time more space between me and the wife and the noise!! Like having a half Limo wall:cheers:
That's hilarious! now all you need is to put in a pull curtain and sound suppressed wall liners in the back! Ha Ha!
So I want to sell my back seats. They are from my new 1997 80 and are in great condition. They are like a tan leather. Someone buy them from me please! I live near LA Southern California. 661 645 7125. Tyler. Shoot me an offer.
Second and third row are removed and in storage. No plans to reinstall.
