Some moron in a semi put started backing up at a stop light. Put the corner lift gate into the truck.

Hood ordered. Lights ordered (needed em anyways.) Steel bumper with full hoops ordered.

Soon as all that gets here, I’ll swap everything out and it’ll go the body shop for fresh paint all the way around. Already in it at this point.


Also, pretty sure the only reason they didn’t total it (4.5k in damages) is because the estimator put 30797 for the mileage. They missed a digit…

quick question...which one of the factory buttons light up when the headlights are on? my seat heater light recently burned out and it's making me wonder which ones have also gone out

I don't know of a button that lights up but your headlight are indicated on the dash by a green light bulb icon. Your owners manual should show all the dash lights and what they indicate if you want to check for burnt bulbs. It's the reason all dash lights come on when you first switch the ignition to on.

Every OEM switch has the backlights. All of mine were dead by last year. They aren't hard to replace with LEDs from Amazon. I was unable to find the OEM green Toyota bulbs.

Will be curious how much difference you feel in the 460 brakes. I’m undecided so far.

You'll love the EBC greens! I have them on my rig. They'll throw you through the windshield. Next time it needs rotors I'll upgrade to the 460 front calipers as well.

I'll report back once I get it on the ground. I'm sick of warping 470 rotors. So anything will be an improvement.

Those are 460 calipers Red, and I know all the discussion on slotted and dimpled rotors, if I don't like them I'll go to oem.

I found a very noticeable difference switching to the 460 rotors/calipers. I warped 2 sets of 470 rotors in a matter of a year. The biggest difference I noticed was braking while towing.

Go for it. Absolutely worth it.

The PO may have swapped my brakes, but I am not sure, what is the front rotor casting of a 470 (13WL?) and a 460 is? I did notice the throw you through the window stopping performance, even on 37's.

80 mile trip towing this 24’ x 8’ rental home for the next 3 days. Overall very impressed with the Girl. Got passed by 4 big rigs and I passed 2.

Glad you also found how capable a GX can be for a tow rig! There are a lot of naysayers out there, but just as many of us who drag our trailers all over the place with these rigs.

Finished hanging the calipers and did the Bleed. Both calipers leaving puddles of brake fluid on the ground. I'm guessing when I had them powdercoated they cooked the case seals and killed them. (They leaking out the case seams, not the pistons) So much for anesthetics boys, wont do that again. The one thing I thought I'd do asthetics on and it bit me on the ass.

oof. i didn't realize these fixed calipers have internal crossovers. I've gotten used to the external crossover on the Brembos I've had for years.

They do, there's 4 pistons there. These were OEM from Bell Lexus too. It appears I'm at a crossroad, I can get seals, split the cases and reseal, or just get another set, rebuild the leakers at my convenience and sell them.

Edit: Just ordered another set from Bell, they have the best price. I need to get the rig down on the ground so time plays a factor. Now to figure out if I can get crossover seals, if I can Ill split the cases, replace the seals and get them sold.

I can get piston seals everywhere, but finding the casting seal, that's a whole nother ball game. Simple internet searches yield nada, I haven't called lexus parts yet, I'll do that today. Anyone have any thoughts? Part numbers?
I can find casting seals but I need to split the halves and get some measurements to get the right one.
Word to the wise boys, you want colored, paint them yourself. Lesson learned.

I usually just get reman calipers at NAPA. Lifetime warranty and readily available. My local store stocks the Toyota calipers. I'll go that route when I upgrade to 460 calipers as well.
