I was looking for just slotted when I was shopping, but this is all I found EBC offers as a kit. So far I've been very happy with the same style on the front (EBC kit) and decided to continue this trend on the rear. Note these are not fully drilled, but dimpled. I've stayed away from a fully drilled for reason #4 you listed. Since this isn't my daily I'm not as worried about the lifespan of the pads (put less than 5k on the car last year). All that being said I do appreciate the insight and will take it into consideration when it's time for new parts. Certainly if I have any failures or issues I'll report that out as well.

I swapped back to solid rotors when my pads wore down within 20k miles on my gen1 sequoia. I tow our pontoon and do excursions to the Sierras attributed to its early demised.

Old fluid in container, old fluid splashes vs. new, and reservoir looking clean. Only removed the return hose and ran about 3.5 quarts through. Used the front wheels of the ground lock to lock method. Don’t think this was ever done. Had no steering issues just knew it was time.

Scored a set of FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition Bilsteins yesterday off FB marketplace for cheap. Couldn't find any tool marks or signs of use anywhere on them aside from rolling around in someone's garage. The seller didn't know anything about them as they were tossed in with the purchase of his FJ. He was under the impression they were for a Tacoma.

Later at night after getting home, I took a closer inspection at the spring perches and noticed the typical 5100 circlips but no other grooves for them to adjust to. Granted, that was before heading to bed to satisfy curiosity so I could've overlooked something in that boondoggle.

How hard was it to stuff those tires in? I have 35 Kendas and I've been pondering going to the 37.
2" Body lift saves a lot of cutting, then it's just trim this and that.

2” body lift made it easy (that’s comes with its own challenges), there was still
Some cutting, and a BMR was needed. I moved the axle back about an 1” with the metal cloak links to keep it out of the back doors.

I’ve read that these 37’s run small but have had nothing else to compare it to at the moment. They measure 36”+ sooo. We have no trips planned until early spring so I listed the tires on FBM.

Details on the lights?

Yes, Teq Customs. They make a lot of headlamps which look to be US made. Seem very quality. Mine are the plug & play halo ones, plus they have a more customizable version I believe too.
Took 8 weeks as they stated. They are spendy but I generally shop for quality and not lowest price point if I can.
The looks transformation is incredible.
I did have to drop my bumper about an inch to r&r the lamps - the hardest part…
Thanks for asking.

Exchanged 10 quarts of ATF at the cooler.

181k miles and pretty sure I broke the factory torque mark on the ATF level check bolt. Removed it at 97F and about 1/4 quart drained.

Thanks to all of the how-tos out there. The last how to I found the guy said I’m not fooling with a pan drop, drain bolt, & drain fill bolt. I agreed.

When I get a Nomad valve body the screen, solenoids, & wire harness, can be swapped 😎

Did some earth moving with the Dingo rental from HD. ATF temps soared breifly on the slow climb home. Trailer height was about 12” off the ground and I had to use the GX air springs to hitch/unhitch.

Also installed this switch panel from Blue Dog Customs and the VSC/TRAC disable switch from SBE Precision.

Behind that switch panel is the Diode Dynamics CF18 relay (not smart tap) that I tossed in while I had the dash apart.
quick question...which one of the factory buttons light up when the headlights are on? my seat heater light recently burned out and it's making me wonder which ones have also gone out

Some moron in a semi put started backing up at a stop light. Put the corner lift gate into the truck.

Hood ordered. Lights ordered (needed em anyways.) Steel bumper with full hoops ordered.

Soon as all that gets here, I’ll swap everything out and it’ll go the body shop for fresh paint all the way around. Already in it at this point.

Also, pretty sure the only reason they didn’t total it (4.5k in damages) is because the estimator put 30797 for the mileage. They missed a digit…
