I got new/used Front and middle row seats from 2009 GX. They look much nicer then our 2003 with 240k miles. I paid $400 from a local salvage yard. Little man had fun looking for his lost treasures.

I didn’t think till now. I’m sure the electric connections should work just fine right? 🤦🏻‍♂️😅

To answer my own question No the electric connections do no match for the 09. The tilt is different. Took me an hour to disassemble the 03 seat. Not hard, just tedious.

The seat cushion and cover were an easy but time consuming job. The drivers seat was the easiest. The passenger seat was the most time consuming due to the bottom cushion having a sensor. I believe it’s the seat recognition sensor. On the bottom cushion I had to remove the seat cover from both units and reinstall the 09 cover onto the 03 cushion. I was able to use the 09 back cushion for the passenger side too.

After about 7 hours worth of work I now have newer seats in the GX. They’re much more comfortable compared to the old set.

I attached pictures of the sensor for the passenger bottom cushion. The answer to my questions can you use newer GX seats on the older model? Yes you can. I hope this helps someone else in the future.

I may have to try to attend that next year. Google shows Windrock as right at 7 hours from my door and it's an easy drive down 24/40.

Is it mainly a LC event or is there a bigger cross-section of other Toyotas?

Bought one!

(It was actually last Friday when I picked it up.)

2007, 1 owner, 151k miles. Overall it's in very good condition. However, the driver side inner CV boot just tore 😆. It'll be a weekend project to get to re-booted.

Already installed a CarPlay/Android Auto screen at the request of the wife.

New headlight housings coming soon. Debating if I should upgrade them to HIDs or LEDs.

Also bought the GX Base Camp LED cube fog light brackets to replace the factory fog lights.
With no record of it being done on Lexus.com, I'm going to do the drivetrain fluids over the next few weekends.

See you folks around!

I think it's open to all Toyotas. I wanted to go this weekend but was traveling. I will be going to the next event.

Sounds good. I'll try to make it in 2025 sometime. We have a CO trip planned in September.

I bought the CarpodGo T3 Pro unit from Amazon. Installation was easy and it works great.

Does that allow you to do music too? I have the Nav/ Mark Levinson system and want to be able to also listen to my music off the phone and have decent maps for navigation

It does. The unit can play music via Aux cable or the Bluetooth to Aux adapter it came with.

Today? I haven't even seen it. My son and his GF are moving across the country (were supposed to depart on Sunday) and have been borrowing it for final errands.

The last few days:
Removed windshield fluid reservoir and installed an FJ Cruiser res (needs some final touches still)
Installed a Midland MXT 275 GMRS radio (need to finish installing the ghost antenna onto the ditch light brackets.)
ran some extra wire through the firewall for future upgrades with the antenna for the radio
replaced the RMAd head unit that arrived on Saturday (that is not making sound but I think that's an install thing).

Been negligent sharing adventures this spring.

Stopped at HD to get a tool to rework drainage.

Think I confused the other mall crawlers I passed.

I should start a build/journal.

My dad and I knocked out replacing the axle with the torn boot, spark plugs, air filter, cabin air filter, front and rear diff fluid, transfer case fluid, transmission fluid, and rotated the tires. Took us about 6 hours to do all that, including plenty of breaks...to fix the damn fluid transfer pump lol. We spilled a lot of gear oil. and fishing out the straw that kept falling off the pump into the bottle.

I also ordered a pair of new tires. There is one old tire (date coded to 2016!) and the remaining 3 tires are late '21 and '22. my dad thinks the PO hit something, popped a tire, and found this old one to "match" the other 3. Anyways, just a set of regular tires for now. Not going to upgrade to AT tires until I need to replace a whole set.

Finished up with some small maintenance after the heavy month of work. Greasing driveshafts, installing new rear, making note of what rubber needs to be replaced on the back end, prep for putting new foam and leather on my seats. Been buying piece by piece as they come available. 272k and the seats are toast. Hoping to get that tackled in the next week or two.
