MBP coming to Dallas also, I'm set up to get the tune. Hopefully it doesn't conflict with work, otherwise ill be burning a sick day. . He pops in for a day and loads as many as he can, pretty cool gig.

Resolved the high light bar issue, it now sits lower:
During a camping trip earlier this week (I went back the the outer banks hehe) I noticed metal against metal grinding sounds while braking, and during slow crawls. Walking around the car I noticed the rear left wheel had quite a bit of brake dust. Also there was a 1/2in strip of untouched surface with some rain spot rust all around the outer edge of the rotor, as though the pad never makes contact with that area. Made it 300 miles back home to take it all apart, yikes:
Suspecting it was a brake issue before the sketch drive home, I ordered rotors and pads from my tent at the camptsite, and they got delivered right on time for a weekend project. I got power stop rotors and pads.

I also painted the calipers with some black rust reformer, they look like new! I'm not usually a fan of drilled rotors, I've just run slotted rotors on my other cars so I'll see how this turns out. No photos of the wiring mess I dealt with, but I installed an MPC Remote Start system on my 07 GX. It actually wasn't too difficult to do, but it did take some time to tap into the existing wiring. A few of the OEM harnesses were tucked away pretty well with little slack to work with. Much more worth it doing the install myself compared to the $500+ quotes I received.
I also installed a Smart Tap CF18 flasher relay and updated the interior map, dome, and door lights to LED.

Installed the new Quad Lock 360 Head - 12V-24V Waterproof Wireless Charging Head. My first time trying to do anything electrical and after watching a few YouTube videos I was able to get it done in less than 20 minutes. I routed the cable under the dash and it looks pretty clean, love not having all the wires up in the front console.
I also replaced all the lights in the middle console with LED light bulbs from Super Bright LEDs. Looks awesome!!

Do you have info on the wrap/covering on the roof? The clearcoat on my roof is getting rough from branches and the overall tallness of the GX when wheeling. I also plan to install a rack, so wrapping the paint on the roof before that could be an option to keep it from getting worse.Resolved the high light bar issue, it now sits lower:

Gave up dreaming about drawers and repacked. I need to be able to get the stuff out on the jobsite. Drawers, while a nice feature, would still have me schlepping it out to the rig to get stuff. Profit

My GX started getting baseball-sized chunks peeling with just the primer exposed. I surrendered to the reputation of the pearl white so my route wasn't one where the original paint would be sparkly if the vinyl were removed.
-I started by removing all moldings from the rails and really scrubbing all the gunk out, and there was plenty, I went at it with a toothbrush and soap.
-Then I went around every area that was peeling and lifted any piece that was loose, also used a small piece of vinyl to tack and lift because it will peel off anything that is remotely trying to peel, not good when it comes time to untack the vinyl to readjust placement.
-I then wet sanded the edges of areas that were peeling to smooth everything out, I actually wet sanded a good portion of the entire roof as any minor little piece of dirt will show through the vinyl and leave micro bubbles.
-I opened the sunroof and gave it a good scrubbing all around the insides, also went at it with a toothbrush in the corners to get it really all cleaned out.
-Ended by giving the whole roof a good wash.
-I layed out knifless cut tape along the rails to avoid using the excato, definitely get the stuff, so worth the time.
-When it came time to apply the viny, I opened the sunroof and jammed the spoiler flap so it didn't pop up when laying the vinyl.
-I sprayed and wiped the roof with a mix of water+70% alcohol just as a final prep.
-After initially laying the material (I unrolled it back to front just lightly tapping along the center of the roof) such that it minimized wrinkles/bubbles, I made a cutout where the sunroof is leaving enough material to tuck it inside the edges, but especially to allow space to pull/slightly stretch the material from inside the sunroof area to account for the curvature of the roof towards the front. I learned this while wrapping the roof on my other money pit and it helps a lot.
-Once the vinyl was somewhat in place, even if minor readjustment is needed in some areas, do cut excessive material off leaving maybe 3 inches extra all around.
-I found it esier to work my way from the center of the roof towards the sides with the squeegee. If you see bubbles just tap them with your finger until the air finds its way out through the grooves of the adhessive. This takes a lot of patience, the most I would say, especially when you encounter a bubble that seems like it's going to end up like a wrinkle (not good, and some will meaning you have to lift the whole damn thing and lay it back down).
-For the front of the roof I tucked the vinyl between the body of the car and the small windshield dust flap, and at the very end just excato'd the excess off.
I did this in an afternoon by myself, outdoors with a ladder, a heat gun, 2 squeegees (amazon has kits of vinyl cutter, exacto, squeegee, knifless cut tape) and a lot of mf patience. If you have a friend that can help, and 2 ladders, this will go so much smoother. Also if you'e stuck doing it outdoors like I was do yourself a favor and wait until the sun is gone, better than rushing before it comes up, more importantly because this stuff will heat up fast in the sun, will be impossible to work with, and will burn your hands.
I may be missing some vinyl wrap tips, these are really just suggestions on what worked for me, but there's a bunch of videos on YT adressing how to account for certain scenarios (bubbles, wrinkles, how to stretch, when not to, how/why to apply heat gun, etc..). I hope this helps though, good luck!
I like your quad lock, which base, arm and lcharging head did you use?

Finally got around to smashing the pinch welds down, melting the inner fender liner with a heat gun, and body mount chop after 3 years. Took about an hour.

What did I do with my GX this week? Well I got woken up very earlier saying a tree fell on my car and a cop was outside looking to help me. Walked outside and found this. City came after a few hours and removed the fallen branch, showing the damage on my car. Honestly, the rack saved my car from anything worse, and it could have been much worse. We'll see what happens with insurance! Careful with those trees you park under gents.
