Well for about the last 2500 miles or so, my throw out bearing has been squeaking so with 243,000 miles on the old girl I’m doing the clutch. Finally got everything else out of the way and am down to pulling the trans.

drove it to a bar.. drank some beer.. reflected on how empty and lonely I am... drove back home.

Took the kiddos on some trails in WNC, added to the lovely pinstripes with a good mile of rhododendron squeaking down both sides of the rig.

Installed OEM clutch parts and stabbed the trans. The only part that was worn out was the throwout bearing. Replaced the front driveshaft u-joints while it was out.

Started installing the Springtail table on rear door.
Also started the process to install my AluCab RTT. Hoping to finish that this weekend

“Finished” my front rack spoiler. One day it will get new powder coating but for now it’s done.
Modified a fairing from Expedition One Mule Roof Rack to fit in my Rhino Rack Backbone. Hoping to add a light bar next.

My son took my 2012 TTSE to Truckee ,Ca and went skiing with his buds and took NO PICS ???? Three days in the Sierra's and no pics! Came back, washed it and gassed it up but c'mon, no pics? really? Sheesh, sorry folks nothing to see here. :) Happy holidays everyone.

Started to change the clutch again, now in my new garage. I changed 2018 Centerforce Dual-Friction assembly with URD Torque-U flywheel.

It was fine only about month or two, then it’s not disengaged properly. If I burn it, then it’s fine for some time.

I’ve tried to adjust it below the pedal rod, bypassed the clutch accumulator, nothing is not helped out. Now it slips, but still not fully disengage.

This week I have coolant flush and A/T filter and fluid service for the 2nd time. At 99k miles now.

I'm way overdue to do mine again, but waiting until I can get to the 2-post lift in my shop. Hopefully early 2025.

It is not necessary to lift an FJ to do coolant or trans filter. I lay on clean cardboard in my garage as I have done for the last 40 years :)

Yeah, I didn't have one the last time I flushed it, but I'm getting older and would appreciate not having to lay on my back to do it.

I drained and refilled Toyota Pink coolant today after 50k miles ( now at 99k) Came out surprisingly clean and still pink, not orange as I have seen. Drained radiator, block, heater and overflow tank. Always takes longer than expected but I had my son working with me so he can learn how to do this in future. He is 22 and has a car still under warranty but he will want to do this work in the future. Didn't need to get on my back for this service BUT, tomorrow, since the weather is holding here, 62F sunny no wind, we are planning on the A/T full service, filter and drain technique thru A/T cooler hose and refill from funnel and hose in engine bay Ala the Blue Room version. Did this at 50K and worked well.

You're not going to drop the pan? Clean the screen or check the magnets?

Sorry, did I not say that? I have a new filter and will do that and change the gasket and clean the pan and magnets as a usual procedure but that comes after the drain,. Ala the Blue Room service procedure. I can post up a full detailed procedure if you wish. Will take me all afternoon, I remember from last time, 50k miles ago, takes some time. I did say ///" we are planning on the A/T full service, filter and drain technique"/// sorry if that was missed.

Performed A/T fluid service. I had forgotten what a pain in the backside this service is when done completely!! The order to do this is basically, remove fill plug with 15/16 inch socket (or 24mm if you have that), Run clear 1/2 hose from funnel hanging under hood to fill hole. Remove lower hose from transmission cooler and add 1/2 hose from bib to drain pan marked in quarts. Run engine about 30 seconds to pump trans fluid from trans cooler to drain container until about 1.5 or 2 quarts comes out. Pour same amount of fresh Toyota World Service A/T fluid into funnel to fill hole. Keep doing this for about 14 quarts until fluid runs clean from cooler hose. Keep funnel hooked up but reconnect lower hose to cooler. Drain trans pan and remove, replace filter and clean 4 magnets, use new gasket and button that all up. I measured 1.75 quarts from pan so added that to funnel and fill hole. Remove filler hose and funnel and replace fill plug. Go for a drive, using all the gears and park on level surface. Use T30 to unfasten stand pipe bolt in trans pan and if any fluid comes out , let it drain. If none comes out add 1/4 quart at filler hole and test again. I had about 1/4 of a cup come out. I used an infra red temp gun to measure temp at trans pan. You can short pin 4 and 13 in the connector to get the A/T light to show but as long as the temp is between 115F and 130F you are good to go. Sorry the pics are off 90degrees , dont know how to fix that.
