To those monitoring engine coolant temps with scan tool, what temperatures are you seeing?
I'm seeing coolant temps at a steady 208-212 degrees from a 2014 GX460.

These readings are after I installed the OEM Lexus auxiliary trans cooler (thanks for the part #s Acrad) with the transmission heat exchanger bypass pinned open.
Unpinning the bypass has no notable effect on coolant temps from what I've seen thus far, trans temps do go up 10-15 degrees though.

I was hoping to see coolant temps in the 190s but also recognize that OEMs have been trending to warmer coolant temps for minor efficiency gains, just looking for data.

On a hot day after it is fully heat soaked, I generally am around 200-204. That takes a while though. I checked my old screenshots and I see one max temp that looks like it might be close to 208 (see red arrow below) once. I set me warning zone on my gauges to 220 and have never got close to that.

Nice custom dash.
Thanks. I've made a few changes since this screenshot so I can track max temp of the transmission but the style is the same. I like how easily I can see what's going on.

That's just about where my temps sit.
Note: I have the factory trans cooler and have not added an additional cooler.

I have a Hayden and the thermostat pinned. I am in sunny Florida and drive 40 minutes back and forth to work and never see anything over 190 on coolant temps, monitored via a scangauge 2.

Thanks

The radiator was replaced not long before I bought the truck and I just noticed they installed a Motorad thermostat.
I guess I will be swapping to an OEM thermostat this weekend

If you are using OBD Link or Fusion you can create thermal heat maps to show what your AT temperature is at along a drive or grade

SoCal based. Using Scangauge 3- my coolant temp is typically 193F, and I think the highest I have seen it was 208F under heavy load going up Grapevine on a 110F day, max AC, nearly max gvwr, 75 mph. GX has mild AT tires in stock size.

I have seen these results with and without an aux trans cooler (I have Hayden 678, unpinned) and pinned/unpinned.
