I thought about sand blasting the body, but the black paint comes off pretty easily. The blue oem paint is still rock solid. I'm leaving for africa tomorrow and will not be able to work on the troopie until mid-march, but after that I plan on finishing the rust repair and atleaset painting the tub so I can start re-assembling the cruiser. I'm replacing all the nuts and bolts with new hardware, and new inner door panels. I hope to replace the h diesel with a newer 1hz or 1hz-t.

A couple of teasers from Africa. Too any troopies, cruiser trucks, and defenders to even count. Cruisers coming out of the woodwork. The troopie we traveled in had close to 400K on it and was still running strong. You have to love the 1HZ

34X10.50X17's on FJ Cruiser wheels. I was planning on putting them on the troopie at first, but they look too gheto. Planningon 33X10.50x15 stock steelies with hub caps. Work is getting in the way of my time with the cruiser.

Nice, were you on a guided tour? How much of Zim did you see? We only went in as far as Vic Falls, I can't imagine touring through that country.

I got really lucky on this troopy. I stumbled across some obscure local classified in Melbs that I couldn't find again if I wanted to. Shipping, customs and transport was about $3500. It left Melbs about 4Feb and I just got it Sunday.

HJ-45 troopie pics with trailer build

Working on the troopie today and this week. More rust/rot repair on the tub. Hopefully after this week the tub will be primed/painted, inside and botom of tub ez-lined. I'm also hoping to finish the body work on my camping trailer. She's going to be a beast. I went over board and am using 16 gauge steel for all the body panels. I'm not going to have to worry about it not weighing enough, opps.

more pics of the trailer and the reason other then work the cruiser isn't further along. The second pic is from Rabbit Ears CO on 4/25/09 50 degrees- bye bye snow down to 5 ish feet. The third pic is from 2 weeks ago on Buffalo Pass. Up top @ 10,300 ft the base was 11.5 feet. The snow from the storm was over your waist. Thick, but fun.

After five years I'm finally making some progress. 2 kids later and a busy business it is finally time to finish the troopie!

I painted her last week in my spray booth at work. Inside is 99 percent complete. Seats are redone, including back troopie seats I'll post pictures tonight.

Any one have any good rear bumper cad files or plans? I have a 5x10 torchmate cnc table too
