I've got great balls

Yes, there are a few some soft spots, however that is just the smoke box, and well outside the pressure retaining boundaries.

I added a little bling to a square tube end cap on my English Wheel.

I blew out the drag link/pitman arm connection a couple weeks ago, so it gave me a reason to install the high steer kit I've had sitting in the garage for years. I had to zip tie my steering together to get the 60 in the shop.

I also did some bodywork with 2x4s to fix the big dent i put in the rear quarter last winter. Its not perfect, but I'll take it for now.

After putting the much heavier 10 ply 37x13.50x17’s & steel beadlocks on, steering was not up to it. Wheels in the air, or one on the ground, fine. Both on the ground and she wouldn’t turn at a stop. Steering g on the trails last year was also iffy by the end of each day in the rocks. I had already drilled the piston and did the hot rod Saginaw P-Pump mods to up pressure with minimal impact. I also have a large reservoir and a cooler which help but still needed more. Thought it may be the old and potentially worn out pump, so I bought a reman tuff stuff pump on sale for $80 and swapped the piston and fittings over. It helped a little, and it’s drivable in the street, but still no power to turn when not moving. That won’t do in the rocks, so I measured steering travel and ordered a redneck ram kit.

While it’s in the way, let’s port the steering box. I already have a redhead Saginaw box, and how hard can it be? First pull the box and get it in the vise. Then drill the holes with your 11 year old daughter holding the shop vac to suck everything in as you go. Then tap it using same trick, and back flow it with PS fluid and cycle it so it leaks everywhere but brings all the metal with it. Then cap the box with the fittings that came before the steering kit did.

While the box is off, I also fabricated a rag joint reinforcement plate.

Next stay tuned for ram mounting and hookup, but first I’ll connect the lines and run it with them open into a bucket using cheep steering fluid to further flush any junk out before final testing. :)

My 40 runs an FJ60 box, stock 2F pump, and has a ram on it. It works great on the street and great on the trail I run 35" Goodyear tires,
