Ok guys, I am about 4hrs in at this point. New diff is in. When a shop charges 8 hrs to overhaul your front axle, this is why. I still have to:
Clean knuckles and all related parts
Normally disassemble birfs to inspect and clean
Drive in new races for wheel bearings and trunion
Pack all bearings
Clean all gasket surfaces
Swap birfs left to right
Reassemble

I am installing new drain and fill plugs too.

Do you swap the birfs left to right for even wear on sealing surface?

They can then run on the non-worn side of the Birf. Helps extend the life. If they are too loose, they get replaced. I have not really looked at mine, sure they are original. I have RCV's to go in mine.

I finished getting the fuel filter in. OEM style (aka the stupid way). A 1/4 ratchet with 2 ft of extension and a wobble was the ticket for the inboard bolt. Leave the outboard bolt very loose.
Replaced all the vac lines in the intake and tested the vcv and vsv's. I found a couple cracked hoses which definitely could be my problem. The evap vsv failed and the check valve failed. The EGR vsv passed but it isn't being used since the EGR is bypassed anyway. Also installed a new gas filter (#2)

Can’t wait to get these on the truck! Test fit last night but it started raining before I could take a picture. I think they look great with the 7” round lights on the ARB bumper

Realized I needed to do a little more clearing on the pinch weld to avoid cutting the tires when compressed and turned front wheels. Testing next then seam sealer and paint.

After being sick for the past few days, my fever broke. Looking for a change in scenery I headed out to the garage, strapped on the magic leg and got some cleaning done, both knuckles prepped, ARP steering studs installed, spindles, backing plates, steering arms and drive flanges ready to go back together. Still need to swap races, repack bearings and new ARP hUb studs. Top off diffs and go! Sounds easy riight? Few more hours should do it. I will say, This I-Walker has beed great allowing me to work with no pressure on my ankle.

Oh and I opened up the box!

Are the arp steering studs for the gearbox to the frame?

If you think they are the same can you send me the link to the ones you bought?

@Beach80 This is a good read. I had planned to do the steering arm tabs as well but do not have time right now. I hope to go back and add then later.
