Do you swap the birfs left to right for even wear on sealing surface?Ok guys, I am about 4hrs in at this point. New diff is in. When a shop charges 8 hrs to overhaul your front axle, this is why. I still have to:
Clean knuckles and all related parts
Normally disassemble birfs to inspect and clean
Drive in new races for wheel bearings and trunion
Pack all bearings
Clean all gasket surfaces
Swap birfs left to right
Reassemble
I am installing new drain and fill plugs too.

They can then run on the non-worn side of the Birf. Helps extend the life. If they are too loose, they get replaced. I have not really looked at mine, sure they are original. I have RCV's to go in mine.Do you swap the birfs left to right for even wear on sealing surface?

Are the arp steering studs for the gearbox to the frame? After being sick for the past few days, my fever broke. Looking for a change in scenery I headed out to the garage, strapped on the magic leg and got some cleaning done, both knuckles prepped, ARP steering studs installed, spindles, backing plates, steering arms and drive flanges ready to go back together. Still need to swap races, repack bearings and new ARP hib studs. Top off diffs and go! Sounds easy riight? Few more hours should do it. I will say, This I-Walker has beed great allowing me to work with no pressure on my ankle.
Oh and I opened up the box!

I replaced the ratty throttle cable and steering shaft seal today. I'm waiting on the new vsv and a check Valve before I can put the intake back on. If I have time this week I'll replace the fuel pump and sock.
If you think they are the same can you send me the link to the ones you bought?
