Just got home from GSMTR in Oliver Springs, TN.

Only damage was superficial scrapping on a rear recovery point. So that’s what I’m working on…

Truck was amazing. Crawled over so much. Stayed on the simple trails though.

Several FJ Cruisers did quite well.

One guy put his brand new Lexus on its side. A shame.

Spotted this cool 60…

Waiting on couple parts to get here, turbosmart boost controller, new power steering fluid reservoir and 200 series airfilter. Turbosmart is to help me with tuning my hdj81. I've got it tuned for safe EGT'S but next is fine tuning to AFR. After GSMTR noticed leak at power steering reservoir. Then with the dusty conditions at GSMTR figured it won't hurt to replace my airfilter in my PDI airbox. This coming weekend I hope to install kilmat around my shift console and front floor board. My left foot gets hot on long trips (my exhaust runs on inside of frame rail).

Figured I would install the new glass. I tried to reuse the old gasket. Well it did not go so well. Gasket ripped apart and I cracked the glass trying to dig it out.

Good news is frame is straight!

I got the rear disk brakes on the 72. Unfortunately this was a project that sat for a while so there is some rust on some things. I am trying to clean as I go.

New front pads, rotors, wheel bearings and a cv axle. Got lucky on a hub stud. One that I could not salvage McGeorge had one and only one in stock

Built some ductwork to wrap things up before drywall Monday. Slowly getting there with some help from my friends

I am prepping for SAS and fixn an exhaust leak. I burned out the donut gaskets. Got some cast iron ones and going to sleeve the inside for good measure.

Still baselining some items. Fuel pump and filter

Everything appeared to be original OEM. not a hard job over all.

Finally got intake and exhaust manifolds back from machine shop. Got them installed and torqued. One carb stud pulled out of intake. Have a thread insert to put in now.

Rack was leaking on both sides. Removed and waiting for new rack to arrive. Not too bad considering my bolts were not seized too badly. Separating the column was the hardest part but a crowbar did the trick.

Appreciate it! They do but to pick up they said $850 and online shipped it would be $700 and not arriving until next week. Went with Bosh up in MA for $650 and should have it in by the end of this week.
Any tips on putting it all back together correctly so that it doesn't leak anywhere?

haha will do!! when I was taking things apart, I noticed some unusual play in the lower control arm and that one of the nuts was finger tight!! Must have worked it's way loose at some point :O

I found the clutch master cyl pushrod wet. Not wanting to take any chances at 13,000 feet, I swapped out the system.

More prep for SAS. I decided to rebuild my steering linkage. 1 1/2. .250 wall DOM and 1 1/4 .250 wall. A miz of 21mm and 23mm tie rods for mini truck and 60 series
