Watching the Saturday Night Live Concert on Peacock. I am amazed how “star studded” the audience was. So many really notable faces from over the years….and apparently only those who worked on or for SNL had invitations …AND, for the first time in many years for SNL, this show was pretty good. There were a few 80’s bands I could happily live without but the other 85% were good. Additionally, it was FINALLY something to watch UN-censored.
I’m betting the 50th this Sunday will be entertaining
WARNING…..RANT TO FOLLOW; We pay a fortune for TV programming and to watch a movie with on subscribed channels and being subjected to beeps and black-out stripes across the video has gotten to be really annoying. Snoop Dogg and several others had no trouble re-defining the censor criteria

Stevie Ray Vaughan's final performance took place on August 26, 1990, at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin. The concert was part of a two- night stand where Vaughan and his band, Double Trouble, served as the opening act for Eric Clapton.

Two of my faves right there. While I've only seen Molly a couple of times, we were fortunate to get on the Billy Strings train early on and see them back when they were opening for Greensky Bluegrass and only playing local clubs. The best was when they played Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, mid-week, and we were amongst about 300 people that dwindled down to a few dozen as the boys played late into a school night. The NEVER mail it in!
You'll notice I use the pronoun "they" and not "he" when I refer to "Billy Strings". While Billy is the straw that stirs the drink of that band, the musicians he's surrounded himself with are all TOP NOTCH!! I'm a big advocate for acknowledging that and not just how incredible Billy is himself.
That made me think of W.A.S.P. from the 80's. That made me think of The Decline of Western Civilization, Part 2. W.A.S.P. members were interviewed but the band was not on the soundtrack. So here's the trailer instead.
