For you Beastie Boys fans who always wondered who "Everything I do is funky like Lee Dor-sey" was referencing... But my favorite version of this song so far is the Watermelon Slim version, which I can't find a good version of on YT.
Some assclown "manager/owner" in a nearby town west of here - at his "antiques store" - had music going and it was Led Zepplin. He commented that LZ was devil music, so turned it - that caught my attention, but I was heading to the door anyway.
Next song was this one (original version) and he said it was a horrible song and changed it LOL.
I remember when this came out, great song! I've always chased that Something More and would not change a thing, OK yeah, skip wife #1. Probably a few others here and there but it has always been interesting at the very least.
Wood Brothers show tonight at the NC Museum of Art was SOLID. Shovels and Rope opened and did a great job as well - they came up for one of the encore songs and did a John Prine song around one mic. If you get a chance to check out the Wood Brothers, highly recommend! We've not seen them a ton (maybe 8-10 shows), but they have NEVER disappointed!
