IT"S FRIDAY!!!!!!

My drive to Durham today was filled with spotting white 200's (4 of them). My drive home tonight was filled with Badfinger and Whitesnake, all on the radio...all over the radio, for some reason. "Still of the Night" is just a damn great rock song filled with simple but powerful guitar tones and riffs. John Sykes nailed it on that one. Guilty pleasure, I guess.

Love me some Sturgill Simpson. His new album that is coming out this month has a cover of Nirvanas, "In Bloom." Which I think is damn good. If you like souful, country twang, with Waylon Jennings sounding vocals check him out.

Last night I got invited to the Visulite Theater.

Paper Bird opened, a indie folk / baroque pop band, and I really enjoyed them. Hadn't heard of them before but I'll definitely add them to the playlist.

The Infamous Stringdusters were the headliner. First time seeing a bluegrass band in concert. Very jam band like. Lots of solos and dragging the songs on and on. I like their songs I've heard online and they sounded really good in concert. I just don't like/get the whole jam band aspect. I seem to be in the minority, because the crowd went wild everytime.

Nicki Bluhm sang with them a bit. She has a great voice. She did some of her songs I believe and they covered some other bands. Their cover of Somebody to Love was great.

Anyone been to any good concerts this year? I saw Punch Brothers a few weeks ago at Pisgah Brewing.

Andrea went to Carolina rebellion a few weeks back..... Just about the best line up I've ever seen

A little surfer sound by Jr Brown lots of familiar stuff to the older crowd
