What are these wires (1 Viewer)

I have a 1991 80 series 1hz.
Had some work done on my car and

now the battery gets drained if I go for a drive, that when I turn off it will not have enough charge to turn the engine on. I was thinking maybe alternator. But when I took battery out I saw the wires in the pic that can clearly be connected. However I've no idea what they are and not connecting until I know. Would take to auto electrician but can't start car.
Any ideas?

Definitely some extra wiring there. I'd be interested in where that extra (very large) ground cable goes, and what it's supposed to support.

I'm not sure as only just saw it after I had removed battery and dropped off at battery world to be charged. It's new and was only 4v in it. Well get auto electrician to have a look.

Hmm put multi meter on it when running and voltage 13.7v so not alternator. No leakage, so?

Engine running and headlights on you should see around 14.2v. 13.7v not good.
