What are the best brake pads for a LX470?

I'm going to try EBC green stuff pads when it comes time to do my brakes. Used them on other vehicles and have been happy with them.

Has anyone on the forum had any experience with Posi Quiet Pads. Also is the hardware kit a worthwhile investment when doing the rear brakes.

On a side note I just got my timing belt change, new thermostat and coolant fluid replacement done for under $500. This was from my local Toyota dealer. This was after my local auto guy wanted to charge me $1100 for it and include a water pump

I used Napa Gold on the fronts (I hate them) and toyota oem on the rear - Don't ask me why :)

The factory oem (what used to be on there) toyota pads have WAY better bite and brake feel. The Napas don't stop nearly as fast, and I have to hit the brake pedal harder. I'm not sure why, perhaps something to do with the organic pads in the oem being softer ??

Brake pad material is matched to the material of the rotor. This offers max life of both parts while still offering great stopping ability. That being said, with stick rotors you will probably be best off with stock pads. However if you were to chafe the rotors, you would look and see what the manufacturer of that rotor recommends to yield you the best performance or the performance you desire.

I've been using Axxis ULTs on all my vehicles for a long time now. Very happy with them. They do dust more than others and are prone to some noise but perform excellently. Note: I am using them with Slee Rotors. If I had stock rotors I would probably use stock pads. :meh:

Slee currently recommends the PowerStop Evolution
Ceramic with his rotors. I'll probably try these after I burn thru the Axxis ULTs

I used some off brand ceramic pads I got from a buddy that runs a local import auto service shop. They worked fine.

Now I'm using the Z16 Evolution ceramic pads that came in my PowerStop kit and they are awesome!

I got the whole kit (4 sets of pads, 4 rotors) for a little over $400 shipped.

One if the most important things regardless of what pads you buy is proper break-in.

What site did you get them for that price? Summit and 4wheelparts both have that setup for over $500..

Come on man, do I really have to Google search for everyone on this site.

Quick Google search found the kit at Amazon for $438. If you have Prime that's free shipping, but probably pay sales tax.

Here is where I got mine.

They had a sale/coupon going on. Went back and looked at my order details and I paid $417.50 shipped. You just have to spend time and look around for the best deal.

Ahahaha.

I just got those for the GF's Titan. Drilled, slotted with pads $158 to my door.

I was reluctant to buy the kit based on how inexpensive the price (p.s. they are made in China if you care). However post-install I'm thoroughly impressed. I upgrade to 35's just before installing the brakes and the stock brakes were definitely struggling to stop the extra weight. The PowerStops well, do exactly that!
