I was told this motor came in brazilian Land Cruiser. Not sure, wanted opinions. It's for sale locally, and pretty cheap. Thanks

Hey demon
Saw that in the same place you did...very interesting to say the least.
The Brazilian Bandeirante is the rig in question.
"In order to qualify as a Brazilian made car, the 3.4 liter om324-type diesel engine was procured from Brazil Benz"
"In 1973 the engine was upgraded to a 3.8 liter om314-type diesel engine Benz engine with increased power".
Per the Landcruiser 50th anniversary book pages 133-135

I say buy it...
Please post up if you do, so I can come by and check her out.

Very interesting right? For the price it may just be worth the gamble. I only worry about the transmission, and how that would adapt up. Other than that it would be fairly simple in my opinion.

Are you contemplating putting that motor in a 60?

or that project 40 thats in everyones future....

That Bandeirante is the size of 40, not sure if it would pull well in a 60

Was thinking for a 60, so might not work right? Thanks for the heads up. It's $1900 and comes with allison trans. Hard to pass up at that price reguardless

Thanks for the info. Anyone else need one? $1900 in Georgia
