when welding tube to the frame of a rig, i suspect you want to use a plate that prevents you from welding verticaly or horizontaly.
i've seen football shaped plates for doing this but they dont leave room to have a gusset welded to it and the tube.
is it possable to use a triangular plate that would sit flush to the bottom edge of the frame and use one inch welds along the bottom? like maybe three welds on a five inch edge?
that way, the other two edges come to a point about four inches above the lower edge and give enough material for a decent gusset.
and would the two edges coming to the point be fully welded to the frame?
