Welder big enough to tack weld?

Is a 110 volt mig welder big enough to Tack weld brackets such as Ruff Stuff spring & shackle hangers and spring perches on the axle housings?

NOT to finish weld. Just tack them in place after getting everything laid out & lined up to hold them in place so frame can go to a real welder to actually weld them.

If you get a good one they are big enough to finish weld them if you take your time do it right and do two passes. You need a good one with good duty cycles, and a good 110v plug to plug it into. Tripping the breaker is one issue it cycling off is the other. With my 110v I can weld 1/4 and thicker metal and penetrate all the way through. So tack 100% for sure, weld yes but with conditions.

Flux cord also welds much hotter then solid wire with gas and will penetrate better, but look much worse.

I purchased a Hobart 140 Handler and it has been great. I opted to use gas for cleaner welds. I had a custom 3/16 in Tub built and I have done tons of fabrication on it with NO issues. This has been a great rig. Fast, reliable and only cost me about $450 from Tractor Supply. It has multiple heat settings and wire speeds to make the job easier. I have welded up to 1/4 inch material with no issues single pass. Good luck.

I've got the Hobart 140 as well. I haven't tried .25" but I feel pretty confident that it could do it. Mine rarely sees setting 3 for the stuff I do. I've never even turned it up to 4.
