I'm currently driving an 07 FJC

My ole mule shares a stable with a 14 FJC...Short seven year run on a very nice vehicle..I have the acquaintance of one er' two "Delta's"..You have some stick time on the BFV?

I saw a pic of someone fishing at Penns Creek. That's only 30 min. from home.

That would be me, I frequent the trout streams of central PA from time to time.

Now the plot thickens...They have already started the stocking schedule here in WV....Just think'en about the five weight the other day!! Also, the rear taillight protector arrived safe and sound..Thanks! I'll mention you in my "dispatches"..

We don't have much ocean access

Not yet...;)

I'm enjoying the FJC. Very capable rig. I retired my 1st gen 4Runner for it, so it was quite a difference. I'm thinking of trading up to a 13 or 14 if the prices ever come down.

Spent the majority of my time as a light scout although my last three years were at Ft. Stewart as a BC and section sergeant. I cut my teeth as a ground pounder so it was difficult for me to "Scout" in a BFV. Took them out to NTC and the first thing I did was bury them and dismount!

Nice! I live in Mifflin County right on the edge of Bald Eagle State Forest
This was taken at the top of Poe Paddy drive looking down at the creek into Centre County.

I was there this past spring, camped at Poe Paddy, fished some green drake action!

I like the cut of your jib.."Was" light my whole life in one fashion or another. Been trying to coax @rkymtnflyfisher down to the sovereign shores of the Cheat River for the "telling of tales" and other fishing flights of fancy...Keep your ear to the ground here and I'll let you fella's know how things shape up this spring......

BTW..Nice britches...I have a couple pair my "uncle" gave me as a parting gift when I left the Kings service......Cept' I think I'm to fat to wear em now...

I'm having cataract surgery next month (left eye 2/3 and right eye 2/17)... not only will I be able to see clearly again, my new lenses will have a slight yellow tint... the Dr thinks the tint may mitigate my colorblindness somewhat and I may actually be able to see the fish and the bottom for the first time... we'll see.

Yep, Calif is still hanging in there... but, one of these days we may have ocean access in Nevada... but no OBX...

I'm having cataract surgery next month

Supposed to be the case for me too, don't have a date yet though. It will be right eye only, I had a detached retina back in June, the doctor told me right then that the procedure to reattach it would cause cataract. Of course that's minor compared to having almost no eyesight in that eye. At the exam a couple weeks ago the right eye was 20/100, they said it should be around 20/25 after the procedure.

@joabmc Welcome to the highway. Thanks for your service. I had no clue what OBX was either. I have about 800 miles of beach front to the gulf from here.

Thanks all for the warm welcomes. I always feel at home with other vets.
The Outer Banks, NC is one of the few unmolested beach areas left on the East Coast. Miles and miles of beaches that you are able to drive on. You'll often see deer in your back yard while vacationing. And if you get up to the northern beaches, you'll see horses roaming the beaches.
It's a nice place to get away if you want to get away without all of the neon, boardwalks, and canned fun.
That pick was taken on 4th of July... Here's another shot up and down the beach.

I love spending the week there and not being elbow to elbow with folks.

Preaching to the choir I'm sure. I don't do well in big crowds. I get anxious and generally not fun to be around. I had vowed not to return to OC, NJ or MD. Fortunately my wife looked into OBX about 8 years ago and we've gone there and enjoyed since.
