Fresh to the Forum, no LC in my life yet, but love the vibe and looking to add a 70-series to my life in the coming year. Out in Washington County and looking forward to learning from y'all and sharing anything helpful that I can.

Welcome to the group. Theres a lot of knowledgable fans of Cruisers here. Its been kind of quiet due to global events but hopefully we'll have a roundup when the pandemic settles.
welcome aboard!! I grew up out in washington county. It was country then...not so much now. I worked at Royal Moore auto center out there and was detailing cars as a high school job right when Royal Moore added their toyota franchise - so I did pre-delivery inspections and detailing cars and trucks fresh off the boat (which constituted pulling all the protective plastic from the inside and outside) and making them ready for sale. I touched an awful lot of 80 series cruisers back then before they were cool. Royal Moore didnt have the toyota franchise for the 60 series years.
hahhah!! "no!!! get off my lawn"

With the nice weather I am looking for ideas on close-in dispersion camping spots. Ideally something that you could leave town late Friday afternoon and get there before dark in time for cocktails and setting up for dinner. I have tried the coast a few times and also some spots in the Tillamook Forest off Hwy 6 with limited success.
Looking for spots up/ over Mt. Hood or out the past Damascus on the Clackamas.
Cheers
Excellent thanks Paul!!welcome aboard!!
you plan like i plan - "time for cocktails" - you're speaking my language!
my wife does a lot of rock climbing on the east flank of Mt. Hood - check out google maps of FS 44 - runs east/west between Hwy 35 and Dufur on the east. there's tons of little side roads and a few creeks here and there that make for easy BLM land bug-out.
Thanks Cheese!Pick up a copy of this book, there's one for the Willamette and another for Mt Hood NF… it's a great guide to camp spots. It's available locally at places like Worn Path and REI
