Specs list it at 3263 lbs. Weights vary, of course, depending on extras. I thought they'd be heavier than at on average.

GVWR should be on the vin tag somewhere. Mine says 4665lb. 1973 model

F or 2F? Hard top or Soft top? Curb weight for an F with a hard top is 3470. A 2F with hardtop is 3792.

You can get more info here - http://www.cruiserfaq.com/00-01.html

Good luck!

Hmm gonna re-read my tag. Mine is factory hard top. but has a transplanted 2F amongst other things.

Yup! reads 4665 lb. My brain isn't working, Curb weight and GVWR shouldn't be the same right?

GVWR is not how much the rig weighs. It is the max weight the rig can weigh when fully loaded. In essence, you can carry almost 1200lbs in your rig without "overloading" it.

Both the TLC and Rocky Mountain Cruiser sites list the FJ40 curb weight at 3263 lbs. The TLC site says that this figure includes a hard top.

Drove mine across a scale last night. Specs...35" tires, Metal tech roll cage, noseguard, and stinger, soft top, Gozzard fiberglass tub, SBC 350, SM465, SOA/SR, custom front and rear bumpers, custom spare/jerry can rack, Warn XD9000i, that's about all that should matter........

4760 lbs. I was quite surprised to say the least.

Take it to a Rock quarry or other public scale and weigh it. All of them vary.
Mine fully loaded, 2 occupents included, for a Rubicon trip comes in at almost 5200#. Without all of the extra gear and no occupents weighs in at 4620#

I've got a weight of a friends rig virtually all stock with hard top, 1976 weighed in at 3848
