Wow!
You can tell a true desert rat by the humoristic view of wet destructive carnage..:D

Let me guess...Thornless mesquite.;)

Edit: that is an ash.

Remind me not to go to lunch with you Kevin :grinpimp:

Helpful hint, never need one till you really need one, pack a chainsaw..;):D

Came home and my tree was laying in the front yard. This is the THIRD TIME!! It is getting bigger all the time and I can not pick it up by myself any more so I had to compromise....

The reason why we see so many uprooted trees and especially thornless mesquites is because they are usually constantly watered. Mesquites are very drought tolerate, they have a strong ground root that will dig down to search for water, thus giving itself a good firm grip to the earth. If it is constantly watered, that root won't develop as much and the top will over grow and then we all know the rest of the story. I have one in my back yard. The top is a bit overgrown, but I love it for the shade in the summer time. I haven't regularly watered mine on over a year. It held up today, with the help of being strapped to a couple of stakes, but a couple of limbs did break off on top. I'm in Chandler near Warner and McQueen and we got pounded 3 times today! Fun times!

wind took down one of mine a couple of weeks ago. I cut it up with the chain saw, and hauled it to the dump, but the winch on the 40 came in very handy when it came to pulling up the stump and roots. I was surprised how easily it pulled it.

Sisoo, there's a bunch in that lot.
They're usually pretty durable.

That and shallow watering. Tree should be watered seldom and deep.

good thing I secured a covered parking spot just in September for Michael's truck in jail :grinpimp:
