Thought I would try to help with an easy to find reference. There are 2 styles of 5 pin sockets in the warn winches. I will explain the differences. I was redoing a 1975 Warn 8274 and converting to the newer 5 pin remote and Albright solenoid. I pulled the Solenoid box off an older Warn HS9500 as it was the only winch in the garage with a remote. Tried to save a few bucks by not buying a socket, remote or solenoid box. I'll fix the HS9500 later.

When I started looking at the wiring of the plug and the colors of the wires in the back of the plug they did not match what I kept finding. So to avoid any confusion I will try and summarize the wiring colors here. The 5 pin wiring is essentially the same across all years of Warn winches however the colors of the wires changed. Below is the summary of the two different 5 pin wiring plugs. The remotes are the same.
Below is wiring summary of the 2 different plugs and where they go on the Albright. If the winch powers in and out backwards, just swap the yellow and blue on the albright. My Albright was not labeled with colors.

After googling six ways from Sunday, watching Youtube videos, and poring over every Mud post I could find, @CrowleyFJ40 sent me this post. Tells me everything I was trying to find!
I definitely owe you both a beer!
